The Height of Luxury Golf to Inspire Your Next Holiday

This week’s blog is on the height of luxury golf which is great inspiration for your next golf break! With many of our destinations having almost year-round great golfing weather it is never too late to plan your next golfing getaway to somewhere hot and sunny with some fantastic golf to play!

Up first we have the two brilliant Sueno hotels: Sueno Golf and Sueno Deluxe which are both luxurious all-inclusive five-star resorts situated in Belek, Turkey. Sueno Golf offers everything that you could possibly want from a golf break in a more tranquil surrounding with a fantastic buffet restaurant that you can experience panoramic views of the golf course from as well as a lovely bar area too. The private beach area is stunning with a pier out to sea and a great beach bar where you can get light lunches and snacks. With all of this and two great 18-hole golf courses onsite it is no wonder that this hotel made our list of luxury golf.

There are no surprises either with Sueno Deluxe which only opened in May 2015 and is also situated just a stone’s throw away from the beach and has easy access to both Sueno golf courses (Dunes & Pines). Onsite you have so many fantastic facilities including several great restaurants and bars, a nightclub and a fabulous spa centre.

If you’re looking for luxury golf courses then look no further than the three beautiful Lumine courses in Costa Dorada, Spain. Each of the courses offers you a different style of round and staying nearby means that you will have three to choose from and there is no better place to stay than TRYP Port Cambrils Hotel which is an elegant four-star hotel situated just a moments’ walk from the beach. Lumine Hills is a beautiful 18-hole championship course and its fairways are lined with pine and olive trees and some of the holes on this course are truly spectacular. There are some great short par-3s as well as some longer holes on the scorecard and the 18th will stay in your mind for a long time after the round has finished with its heavy element of risk and reward as well as too many hazards to navigate yourself around for it to be an easy finishing hole!

Lumine Lakes is the second 18-hole championship golf course here and is as equally integrated into its surroundings as the Hills course. With no less than 13 of the 18 holes featuring water hazards there is very little room for error if you don’t want to lose a few balls along this course and although there is less undulation across this course compared to the Hills course there are plenty of strategically placed hazards in order to challenge golfers of all abilities. The Ruins course at Lumine Golf Club is a stunning and fairly flat 9-hole course, although it is shorter than its sister courses, it is still maintained as beautifully and provides a unique and short round of golf!

Viva Zafiro Alcudia & Spa is our next suggestion for your next luxury golf break! This five-star resort is just four minutes’ walk from the beach and is located in the quiet area of Port d’Alcudia but by just walking a few minutes from the entrance to the hotel you will get to experience the liveliness of this town. The hotel boasts great facilities from several outdoor pools to an indoor pool and great spa. This is a beautiful and luxurious hotel with beautifully decorated rooms with private balconies and many different restaurants to choose from which also boasts easy access to a fantastic golf course. Alcanada Golf Course is a parkland course with picturesque views of Mallorca’s coastline as well as a challenging layout with many strategically placed hazards for you to navigate your way around. This is a testing but stunning course and it is no surprise that this hotel and golf course combination is one of our favourites for a luxury golf getaway.

Palacio Estoril Hotel Golf & Spa is a five-star hotel situated in the centre of the Estoril Resort in Lisbon and is just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. The hotel’s rooms are spacious and decorated with warm colours and is fitted with all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this standard. The location of this hotel is perfect as it is so close to so many restaurants and bars whilst being located in such beautiful surroundings with a fantastic golf course onsite. Whilst you are here you will never be short of somewhere great to eat or drink as there are four different restaurants and with the resort of Estoril on your doorstep you can always venture out of the hotel to find some delicious food and drink in the area. The spa features a sauna and a Turkish bath and you can also purchase a treatment from the vast range that is offered here. With all of these fantastic facilities as well as the fact that many of our packages here come with unlimited golf at the prestigious Golf do Estoril, this is definitely one for you to consider.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Evolutee Royal Obidos Hotel & Spa situated in Obidos, Lisbon. This boutique hotel offers its guests nothing but luxury with their beautifully decorated bedrooms with stunning views across the golf course or the lagoon as well as a superb spa and great outdoor pool area. The Royal Obidos course is the shining star about staying at this lovely five-star property. The course was the winner of the Best Course in Portugal award in 2015 and it really isn’t hard to see why, this course boasts a spectacular combination of holes and offers stunning views across the ocean for half of the round. Water features prominently on this course but is worked into the layout so beautifully that it can be a little distracting and you can expect to lose at least a few balls. This course is a luxurious one and is enough of a reason to book your next golf break to Lisbon now.

We hope that you enjoyed this week’s blog and that it has inspired you to start thinking about where your next luxury golf holiday will be to…

The Best Unusual Places to Golf

This week’s blog is a guide to some of the most unusual places and courses that you will get to enjoy a round of golf on. In many incidences, it is the case that golf is the main highlight of your holiday and it is often easy to find a fantastic hotel almost anywhere but these are courses which are well worth basing your entire holiday around…

Fist up we have Jardin Tecina which is arguably one of the most special and impressive courses in the Canary Islands. You tee off at the top of a hill and then for the duration of the course you slowly zigzag back down without playing one single uphill shot. With the course measuring a long 6,900 yards from the back tees it is not an easy round of golf. However, with the wide fairways and option of closer tees it is playable by golfers of all standards. The views from every shot are simply stunning with trees, flowers and other tropical plants adding to the stunning panoramic views of the ocean. Although all of the holes are brilliant, there are a few spectacular ones which you definitely won’t forget for a while like the downhill short 4th hole where if you don’t place your ball carefully it may get swallowed up by the ravine which is on your left. The finishing hole for this course is a great one where you will have to hit two well-placed shots in order to score well on this hole and the entrance to the green is framed by two impressive palm trees. This is a beautiful but challenging round of golf and one not to miss out on!

Up next we have the Crete Golf Club which is located in the hills of Hersonnisos and boasts spectacular views from this ideal location. Not only is this course built in a beautiful location but Crete’s year-round mild climate provides excellent golfing conditions. There are a wide variety of holes that will challenge even the golfers with the lowest handicaps here from short par-3s to long par-5s. As you play the course, the fairways wind through rocks and ravines where you can experience stunning views of the mountains and the coast. This is a beautiful course with some very memorable holes and scenery for you to experience – another course definitely not to be missed out on!

The four-star Bogogno Golf Resort is situated in Lake Maggiore where you can experience beautiful surroundings which can be enjoyed even more so when you are playing on the two parkland golf courses situated on the resort – the Bonora and the Del Conte Course. The rooms are all spacious and boast their own private terraces which overlook either one of the golf courses or the pool areas. This is a beautiful resort with some stunning surroundings and great facilities including two tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi as well as a great restaurant in which you can dine outside enjoying the views. Both of the golf courses onsite are regarded as two of the finest courses in Italy and blend effortlessly into their Italian countryside surroundings. The Bonora course is the more challenging of the two courses with its undulating fairways with many strategically placed hazards for you to navigate around.

Minthis Hills Golf Club is just a short drive from the bustling town of Paphos but far enough from the town that its setting is tranquil and relaxing set in the grounds of a twelfth century monastery. The course sits so naturally in its surroundings and offers stunning views away from the hustle and bustle of the towns nearby. There are a wide variety of different holes here and many will leave a lasting impression like the short 12th where you have to navigate the valley on your left and the challenging 17th hole where you will need to be very accurate and strong to reach the green in just two shots. The fairways are far from flat and are lined thickly with fruit trees and grape vines which can make this a challenge, however, with its range of tee options it is playable by golfers of all abilities which makes it a great course for an enjoyable golf break to Cyprus.

Up next we have the five-star Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. The hotel rooms here all boast a private balcony or terrace as well as a flat-screen TV, walk-in closet and other luxury furnishings. This is a very special golf resort and whilst staying here you will experience the height of luxury wherever you go within the resort. The resort boasts many facilities including a shooting centre, water sports, tennis courts as well as a private beach and a fantastic spa facility in which you can enjoy a range of different treatments. Whilst you are here you will never be short of somewhere fantastic to dine as there are seven superb restaurants where you can find anything from seafood to Italian to International cuisines. There are three fabulous golf courses on the resort, each of which offers something different from the last and will complete your luxury golfing experience here.

Hotel Antik is a fantastic, new, four-star hotel situated in the marina of Balchik and is just three minutes’ walk from the beach. All of the rooms here are beautifully designed and fully-fitted with all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this rating. Within walking distance, you can enjoy a wide variety of different bars and restaurants but the hotel’s on-site restaurant is superb and offers delicious food. With all of this as well as three signature golf courses within a 15 minutes’ drive away it would be hard to find anywhere better for your next golf break.

Another fantastic property located in Balchik is the four-star Hotel Mistral which overlooks the marina and all of the rooms here have stunning views out across the Black Sea. You are only a three minute walk from the beach here and being so close to the marina means that you are never short of somewhere fantastic to eat or drink. However, if you prefer to stay in, you can enjoy local and international dishes at the open-air restaurant at the hotel where you can enjoy views of the marina whilst you eat. This is a stunning hotel in a perfect location being in the centre of the marina but also only 10km from three superb golf courses.

Last but not least, we have two fantastic and unusual golf courses situated in Bulgaria. Thracian Cliffs is considered to be “Gary Player’s gem” and its setting is breathtaking. Every one of the 18 holes runs alongside the coast of the Black Sea and we can guarantee that you will never play a course anything like this one. Although this course seems daunting, with its many different tee positions, it is possible for golfers of all abilities to play and enjoy a round here – even if your golf is poor, the surroundings are anything but! The 7th and 8th holes are particularly tricky where if you are not entirely accurate you will lose your ball very easily. It is a tough course and one where you will have to take a lot of risks (and many might not pay off!) but it is one of a kind and definitely one that has to be on ever discerning golfer’s must-play list!

BlackSeaRama is another Gary Player special. This course is relatively flat, set upon the cliffs overlooking the Black Sea, although the course is flat, being so high means that the wind will affect your play and make scoring close to your handicap very tricky indeed. There are also a fair few water hazards that come into play, especially in the later holes which add to the trickiness of this course. Its finishing hole is the signature hole here, the 18th is a par-3 over the valley and the views are simply breathtaking. This is another spectacular course that you could easily base your holiday around…

We hope that this blog has inspired your next golf break…it isn’t too late to book for this year!

At the hotel’s restaurant you can enjoy some delicious traditional Portuguese dishes. Within such a short distance from the hotel are five fantastic golf course which can each offer you something unique and interesting.

The Orizonte courses are fantastic holiday courses which you must take the time to play. Aroeira I and Aroeira II are situated on the same resort close to the hotel, Aroeira I’s undulating fairways run through pine forests and so you have to make accurate shots in order to avoid the pine trees, it is a challenging and fun course. Aroeira II features strategically placed water hazards on nine of its holes and with the fairways also lined with pine trees there is no room for error. Quinta do Peru was built as an upmarket Lisbon members course but through Orizonte the green fees aren’t too steep but you can tell that you are playing an upmarket course. Along the way there are plenty of water and sand hazards waiting to catch your errant shots. Last but not least when you are staying at the Sesimbra Hotel and Spa is the Ribagolfe golfing resort. Both Ribagolfe I and Ribagolfe II are firm favourites with us here and if you give them a chance we are sure that you will see why as you get to play a superb round golf in such a natural surroundings!

There are also two outdoor swimming pools for you to enjoy and the hotel is situated just under two miles from the Cesine Nature Reserve where you can take long walks. This is a beautiful hotel with everything that you could want for your next golf break away for two and with the golf course on-site here, even if only one of you is a keen golfer there is no travelling to be done away from the hotel!

Acaya Golf Club is a challenging course set in a beautiful location amongst Mediterranean vegetation, olive trees and maquis. There are many water hazards on this course, especially on the back nine, where five of the holes are routed around lakes! The challenges aren’t only limited to water-based hazards though, there are many strategically placed bunkers throughout the course which are lying in wait for any errant shots. Although this is a challenging course, at just over 6,100 yards, it is suitable for all golfers and boasts some incredible views of the Italian countryside so it is perfect for your next golf holiday!

Each of them offer a different round of golf with new challenges and with four courses to choose from you definitely won’t be bored here! Pinhal boasts spectacular, panoramic views over the sea as well as wide fairways and strategically placed bunkers lying in wait for you. Despite the fact that there are many water hazards as well as the bunkers and trees, this is a fair course and providing you play well, you should be able to match your handicap. Millennium is the most recent addition to the Oceanico courses, the first nine are set amongst pine trees which you have to be wary of and the back nine has larger greens and more hazards – this is a course on which you need to keep your cool! Laguna has a Links style feel about the course and when the wind is blowing this can be a hard course to score well on, especially with its many water and sand hazards. Despite this, it is the perfect holiday course as it is great for those with a higher handicap but still a challenge for the better golfer. Victoria is the longest course in Portugal but with five sets of tees, it can be played by even those golfers with a high handicap. This is a well-manicured, challenging course but definitely not one to miss out on.

Minthis Hills can accommodate golfers of all abilities and it is a stunning course with its fairways lined with fruit trees and grapevines. The fairways are far from flat here, with many of them being uphill, downhill or sloped which means that you have to think carefully about where to place your next shot. Each hole is unique on this course and each is memorable for different reasons so you won’t get bored playing this course for certain. This is a great holiday course and one that is a perfect compliment to your stay at Hotel Thanos Almyra.

We hope that you enjoyed this week’s blog and that you are thinking about where to book next for your couples golfing getaway

The Insider’s Guide to Monte Rei

This week’s blog is an insider’s guide to the world-class Monte Rei golf course which is widely considered to be the best course in the Algarve, and more impressively is considered to be the best course in the whole of Portugal. If you want to play Monte Rei, the best option is to stay at the Monte Rei Golf and Country Club which is a stunning five-star resort…almost as impressive as the golf course! A great thing about the Monte Rei resort is that it boasts a fantastic location just 20 minutes from the beautiful town of Tavira. This is a super resort and we hope that after reading this you can see why…

Monte Rei Golf and Country Club features stunning, spacious one, two, three and four bedroom villas that guests can enjoy staying in whilst here. All of the villas are built in a traditional Portuguese style and decorated beautifully, they are also all fitted with a living room, a TV and a DVD player as well as a modern kitchen for you to do as much self-catering as you wish to! If you don’t wish to cook for yourselves, the resort features a great restaurant – Vistas Restaurant – which is a lovely dining experience with fabulous high ceilings and stunning views across the 18th hole of the Monte Rei course. Along with the restaurant, the hotel boasts a lovely bar area, swimming pools and tennis courts. Also, if you are less into golfing and more into relaxation, there is a fully-fitted spa and gymnasium where you can enjoy a range of different treatments as well as a great workout if you feel up to it! The location of the Monte Rei resort is a main reason to choose to stay and play here (asides from the world-class golf course!) as it is just 12 minutes drive to beautiful sandy beaches and just 20 from the town of Tavira.

Tavira is considered to be the gem of the Algarve and is a traditional Portuguese fishing town with cobbled streets, a beautiful riverside harbour and ancient churches for you to enjoy. Surrounding Tavira, are some of the most unspoilt, sandy beaches you will ever have the opportunity to go to and enjoy. There are many excellent restaurants here for you to enjoy, many of them with al fresco dining so you can enjoy the beautiful weather here that is experienced for most week of the year on the Algarve, there are also a range of different bars so you should make sure that you get a taxi if you are hoping to fully enjoy Tavira! If all of this isn’t enough for you then you can always take the train to another beautiful town or city from here for only a small price!

On to the main attraction… the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Monte Rei which was opened in 2007 and quickly rose to be one of the most popular and sought after courses on the Algarve and it really isn’t hard to see why. Everything about this course is high-class from the conditions of the greens to the clubhouse and the service that you can expect to experience here. The course is set amongst the mountains which gives it a special backdrop with some simply stunning views right from when you arrive at the clubhouse, this just sets the scene of the course for what is a fantastic round of golf on a course with an unforgettable layout and breathtaking scenery.

You open with a par-4 hole from an elevated tee onto the fairway which then doglegs to the right and from then on you are tackling a large amount of strategically placed bunkers and water hazards whilst trying to navigate round the course! There are so many fantastic holes here, each with different and unique layouts and challenges that are beautifully presented to you on this well-kept course. The 13th hole is a downhill par-4 which has bunkers waiting for you at the bottom which you have to navigate around before attempting to get your shot to land on the undulating lakeside green. This is followed by the 14th hole which can arguably considered to be the prettiest hole on the course, where your tee shot determines how you score on the hole as if you don’t manage to place it correctly then your ball will end up in the water. Like most great golf courses, the 18th here is a fabulous finishing hole which is a great one for you big hitters but make sure that you watch out for the lake! There is no doubt about it that this is certainly a golf course for the bucket list for any discerning golfer.

This is just one of the fantastic hotels and golf courses that are on offer if you decide to book a trip to the Algarve where you can definitely expect to experience great weather, superb golf and lovely hotels for many weeks of the year (unlike here in the UK!). Something that makes booking to the Algarve even more of a good idea is the fact that at the moment, there is a promotion with which, courtesy of Golf Escapes and the Algarve Tourist Board, you receive a free J. Lindeberg golf polo shirt with every booking…

We hope that you enjoyed this week’s blog and that you can see what is on offer from this beautiful region of Portugal, not only in terms of hotels and golf courses but also in terms of golf polo shirts!

Situated in Sotogrande, Spain, are the Albayt Nueva Alcaidesa apartments which are all located in a superb location just next to the two golf courses: Heath and Links as well as just five-minutes away from the sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol. The Heath course is designed as a heathland style course with wide fairways and spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and local mountain ranges. Although this is a great holiday course, there are plenty of water hazards waiting to catch errant shots and when the wind picks up this course can be tricky! The Links course here is considered to be one of the best links courses in the whole of Spain, this course’s level of difficulty is also determined by the wind speeds on the day of play which makes the unlimited golf package here handy for when you want to get the chance to play again to improve your score (and ego)! Fancourt-Links

Fancourt’s Outeniqua and Montagu courses have become known as two of the finest parkland courses in the country. Getting the opportunity to play a round of golf on each of these courses is a remarkable experience. However, the shining star of the Fancourt courses is The Links course, which is rated as the best in the country. The course is perhaps the most impressively designed course in South Africa and presents players with a unique and tough South African golfing experience. The land across the golf course is so vast and rolling that it feels like there is a change in elevation at every hole and the course blends effortlessly into its natural landscape. Each hole presents you with a new challenge but you will definitely remember every one, which just shows what an experience you will have. However, there is no doubting that this is an exceptionally tough course with fast greens and lots of rough. The course allows little leeway for wayward shots so if you are a golfer with a high handicap you may find this course a little frustrating. In the area there are some other amazing courses to play such as Oubaai, Simola and Pezula.
Pearl-Valley-Hotel

Another fantastic package to South Africa awaits you at the Pearl Valley Hotel. Pearl-Valley-Golf

Undoubtedly, one of the best things about the new Pearl Valley Hotel is that now you have the opportunity to stay and play one of South Africa’s finest courses – Pearl Valley Golf Course. The course is nestled between the dramatic Simonsberg Mountains and the Berg River Valley. It has been recognised as the Best Conditioned Course in South Africa several years running. The course is a parkland course and has many water hazards which can shake up your round a little if you’re not careful.

Insider’s Guide to La Manga Club

This week’s blog focuses on the famous La Manga Club resort, and also takes the opportunity to look at the 5-star Principe Felipe Hotel and the 4-star Las Lomas Village packages that are very popular with Golf Escapes clients. La Manga Club is an ideal resort for groups, offering a host of leisure, sports social and dining options to fill your day and night coupled with some superb packages available for all year round! Our packages include offers such as the “one free in eight” deal, plus Early Booking Discounts and other value adds so for value for money this is an excellent option.

If you want some quality during your stay then Hotel Principe Felipe is a modern and comfortable five-star hotel built in traditional Andalucian style with a wide range of facilities and of course direct access to the three brilliant golf courses on-site. The hotel is situated in the centre of La Manga Club which makes it the perfect destination for anyone who wants to be able to access all the facilities of this vast resort very easily. This includes the 28 court tennis centre, impressive spa facilities but especially the many bars and resturants. You will never be short of somewhere to enjoy a brilliant meal or a few drinks when staying here as there are restaurants serving all different types of cuisine from Mediterranean food to Asian cuisine, or Italian and Indian foods options. At the hotel, all of the guestrooms feature a TV as well as a private balcony which boasts scenic views of the pool or the golf course.Principe-Felipe

If your budget doesn’t quite stretch to the 5-star option but you still want all that La Manga Club has to offer than we suggest you take a look at Las Lomas Village. Packages here offer full acess to the golf and other facilities but are easier on the pocket and represent great value. Overlooking the North course, here you can also enjoy time relaxing by the pools, at the Club’s private cove or at the spa when you are not enjoying a round on one of the three golf courses here. Within driving distance, there are the beautiful unspolit beaches of Calbanque or the delights of the Mar Menor where there are is also a wide range of watersports available.Las-Lomas-Village

However, despite all this, for golfers the main attraction will always be the three 18-hole courses on-site and we start with the championship South course. This course is a stern test of golf, but the fairways are quite forgiving so don’t be afraid to open the shoulders. Although the fairways are wide, there are only a few holes which don’t feature some form of water hazard and there are many strategically placed bunkers ready and waiting to catch any errant shots! The course features a wide variety of different holes varying in length and difficulty from terrific par fives to short par threes and the 14th hole presents one of the largest sand traps in Spain with almost the entire length of the fairway on the right-hand side being bunkered.  The 18th is considered to be the signature hole where the tee shot is tough and with your initial shot you will find it difficult to avoid the many water and sand hazards and then to add to the challenge the green is well protected with bunkers. This course is a beautifully honest test of golf and the course demands some accurate shots in order for you to score near to your handicap, especially when the warm wind is against you! The greens are fast but this is a very fun and relaxed course – a perfect addition to your golf escape.South-Course

Next, we have the North course. This course was refurbished again recently and is very different to its sister South course, with the two meeting on several occasions during the 18 holes, it is much shorter and hillier. In order to score well on this course you cannot afford to lose concentration throughout the round as between holes 13 and 17 there are half a dozen ponds waiting to catch any errant shots late in the round. Out of the three courses at La Manga Club, the North course is possibly the easiest but that doesn’t mean that it is to be taken lightly, when the sun is shining (which is almost always is) the originally short par 3s seem long and the palm trees are there, lining the fairways, waiting to catch any wayward shot sent off course by the wind. Although this is a perfect course to play whilst you are on holiday or have a slightly higher handicap, there are also many challenging holes along the way such as the par three 4th hole with out-of-bounds to the left and a magnetic hazard on the right! This is a well-kept, scenic holiday course with large greens, lush fairways and lovely surroundings – definitely one not to be missed out on! Both the South and the North courses here at La Manga can be access straight from Principe Felipe Hotel being just a few steps away from the entrance to the hotel which means that no travelling or fuss is necessary to find a great golf course when you are staying here!North-Course

Last, but certainly not least, is the West course. This course is a 4-minute free shuttle away from the Principe Felipe Hotel and Las Lomas Village which means it is still easier than most to access! This course, although known as some as the Wild West due to the location in the hills, is beautiful with well-manicured fairways and spectacular scenery for you to enjoy throughout the round. Each of the holes here seems to be different and each one presents you with a different challenge whether you are a seasoned golfer or one with a higher handicap! The first nine holes are easier, and slightly less inviting than the back nine but they could not be described as easy with the 3rd hole presenting you with a challenging tee shot as well as a hidden green. Then you have the 9th hole challenging you to take on an uphill tee shot before you wind down to the protected green behind a ravine and in front of a large lake! Throughout the back nine holes you are up and down the mountains playing the difficult 12th hole and then the even more challenging par three 13th which although is a beautiful hole, will not look so beautiful on your scorecard! No one could question the signature hole after you have played the 18th, the tee is at the top of a small mountain overlooking the fairway and beyond across La Manga, the countryside and the sea – this is a superb finishing hole and you can only understand why once you have taken it on. This course is a fabulous addition to the two other La Manga Club courses and completes this as perhaps the perfect destination.West-Course

Travelling to La Manga is also very easy, Murcia (MJV) airport is just 20 minutes’ drive away and is a small airport which means that there are no long queues or walks and despite the fact that it is a small airport, plenty of airlines from the UK fly into there so La Manga Club is very accessible! There is also the option of Alicante (ALC) airport, just over an hour away, this airport is one of the busiest in Spain with a large number of UK flights landing daily. Footer

We hope that you enjoyed this blog and will be considering taking your next golf break to La Manga Club as it really does offer everything that you could possibly need or want, and is much more than just a golf resort. With recent investment, this resort is just getting better and better and so contact us to find out more and see for yourselves what the fuss is about.

Our Guide to the Best Tours of Ireland

With March upon us, Springtime is fast approaching and the weather will soon be improving (well, most of the time) so it’s the perfect time to think about booking your golf break to the U.K. Ireland is a beautiful country with stunning scenery, great hotels and superb golf and our tours allow you to enjoy your time there and get the opportunity to play a few different courses.

In South West Ireland, just a five minute walk from the heart of Kenmare is the Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort. All of the rooms are spacious with flat-screen TVs and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas. Whilst you are not on the golf course, you can spend your time in the leisure centre in the pool or the gym or you can take a wander into Kenmare where there is a range of different restaurants and pubs for you to enjoy. The restaurant at the hotel is also fantastic, The Bay Restaurant serves delicious European cuisine with local produce. There are also a couple of bars for you to enjoy a few drinks in if you don’t fancy walking out into town. This is a lovely hotel in a great location and staying here gives you the opportunity to play three courses which are in close proximity…Kenmare-Bay-Hotel

Ring of Kerry golf course is set amongst natural heathland and overlooks Kenmare Bay. From every hole, the course boasts beautiful, panoramic views across the Bay which just adds to the enjoyment of the course. This is an extremely hilly course with dramatic elevation changes and there are plenty of hazards with water and patches of rough on the fairways. However, there are plenty of tee options which makes this course playable for golfers of all abilities. This is a fantastically designed course with breathtaking views that is a must-play.Ring-of-Kerry

The next course on the tour is Castlegregory Golf Links course may only be a nine hole course but it definitely isn’t one to pass up the chance at playing. It is a very challenging course, especially when the weather conditions are harsh but it is one of the most scenic courses you will ever get the chance to experience with Mount Brandon as a magnificent backdrop and the use of natural features throughout the course. This is an enjoyable but testing challenge of golf making it a perfect addition to this tour.Castlegregory

Last, but certainly not least, is Dingle Golf Club. The design of the course is simple yet impressive with the holes seemingly etched into the natural landscape but this doesn’t mean that is isn’t a challenging one. The course is dotted with strategically placed bunkers and the fairways are undulating which makes it a fair test of anyone’s golf. This course could be described as an authentic Irish Links course and is one that could be considered to be a real gem in the area – definitely not one to miss out on!Dingle-Golf-Club

In Dublin, Cassidy’s Hotel is a great little hotel set in the heart of the city. This hotel’s location could not be anymore perfect for a golf break in Dublin as it is within a ten minute walk of Dublin’s main attractions and there are two superb golf courses nearby for you to enjoy. The hotel is made up of three Georgian townhouses which have been converted to make this perfect, three-star boutique hotel. Of course, being in the centre of the city gives you the chance to experience Dublin in all its glory from the nightlife, to the culture and food available there. If you are wanting food right on your doorstep though, the hotel’s restaurant also serves delicious traditional Irish cuisine and the breakfast here is great! Cassidy’s Hotel is the ideal location for your next golf holiday to Dublin and so it isn’t surprising that it is the base for our Dublin tour…Cassidys-Hotel

Whilst staying at Cassidy’s, you get the chance to play two superb golf courses which are within close proximity of the hotel. Portmarnock Golf Course is situated on its own sandy peninsula and is stretched over 500 acres of land. This Links course provides players with stunning views of the Irish coastline and if you are lucky with the weather conditions you will be able to see the Mountains of Mourne to the North. With water on three sides of the course, you are certainly in trouble if the wind is harsh but even without the wind, the fast and undulating greens make this a challenging course, but definitely one to be admired.Portmarnock

The Island Golf Club is a fantastic Links course with some of the most interestingly designed holes you will ever get the opportunity to play. This course is a stern test of golf and like many of the courses here, if the wind is blowing those even with the lowest of handicaps will struggle to finish the round with a good scorecard. Although this course is a tough one with fast greens and narrow fairways, the scenery is simply breathtaking and even if you finish the round with an awful scorecard, you won’t regret this round of golf. This course manages to incorporate its stunning surroundings into the round, this a must-play course when you are staying in the Dublin area and so it is no surprise that this is the final addition to the Dublin tour.The-Island-Golf-Club

These are just two of the tours we have in Ireland and many are still being put together but there is always the option of creating your own bespoke tour with us and with somewhere as beautiful as Ireland, it would be hard to see why you would want to choose anywhere else for your golf break this Spring…Blog - feedspot
