Our Guide to the Best Tours of Ireland

With March upon us, Springtime is fast approaching and the weather will soon be improving (well, most of the time) so it’s the perfect time to think about booking your golf break to the U.K. Ireland is a beautiful country with stunning scenery, great hotels and superb golf and our tours allow you to enjoy your time there and get the opportunity to play a few different courses.

In South West Ireland, just a five minute walk from the heart of Kenmare is the Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort. All of the rooms are spacious with flat-screen TVs and there is free Wi-Fi in public areas. Whilst you are not on the golf course, you can spend your time in the leisure centre in the pool or the gym or you can take a wander into Kenmare where there is a range of different restaurants and pubs for you to enjoy. The restaurant at the hotel is also fantastic, The Bay Restaurant serves delicious European cuisine with local produce. There are also a couple of bars for you to enjoy a few drinks in if you don’t fancy walking out into town. This is a lovely hotel in a great location and staying here gives you the opportunity to play three courses which are in close proximity…Kenmare-Bay-Hotel

Ring of Kerry golf course is set amongst natural heathland and overlooks Kenmare Bay. From every hole, the course boasts beautiful, panoramic views across the Bay which just adds to the enjoyment of the course. This is an extremely hilly course with dramatic elevation changes and there are plenty of hazards with water and patches of rough on the fairways. However, there are plenty of tee options which makes this course playable for golfers of all abilities. This is a fantastically designed course with breathtaking views that is a must-play.Ring-of-Kerry

The next course on the tour is Castlegregory Golf Links course may only be a nine hole course but it definitely isn’t one to pass up the chance at playing. It is a very challenging course, especially when the weather conditions are harsh but it is one of the most scenic courses you will ever get the chance to experience with Mount Brandon as a magnificent backdrop and the use of natural features throughout the course. This is an enjoyable but testing challenge of golf making it a perfect addition to this tour.Castlegregory

Last, but certainly not least, is Dingle Golf Club. The design of the course is simple yet impressive with the holes seemingly etched into the natural landscape but this doesn’t mean that is isn’t a challenging one. The course is dotted with strategically placed bunkers and the fairways are undulating which makes it a fair test of anyone’s golf. This course could be described as an authentic Irish Links course and is one that could be considered to be a real gem in the area – definitely not one to miss out on!Dingle-Golf-Club

In Dublin, Cassidy’s Hotel is a great little hotel set in the heart of the city. This hotel’s location could not be anymore perfect for a golf break in Dublin as it is within a ten minute walk of Dublin’s main attractions and there are two superb golf courses nearby for you to enjoy. The hotel is made up of three Georgian townhouses which have been converted to make this perfect, three-star boutique hotel. Of course, being in the centre of the city gives you the chance to experience Dublin in all its glory from the nightlife, to the culture and food available there. If you are wanting food right on your doorstep though, the hotel’s restaurant also serves delicious traditional Irish cuisine and the breakfast here is great! Cassidy’s Hotel is the ideal location for your next golf holiday to Dublin and so it isn’t surprising that it is the base for our Dublin tour…Cassidys-Hotel

Whilst staying at Cassidy’s, you get the chance to play two superb golf courses which are within close proximity of the hotel. Portmarnock Golf Course is situated on its own sandy peninsula and is stretched over 500 acres of land. This Links course provides players with stunning views of the Irish coastline and if you are lucky with the weather conditions you will be able to see the Mountains of Mourne to the North. With water on three sides of the course, you are certainly in trouble if the wind is harsh but even without the wind, the fast and undulating greens make this a challenging course, but definitely one to be admired.Portmarnock

The Island Golf Club is a fantastic Links course with some of the most interestingly designed holes you will ever get the opportunity to play. This course is a stern test of golf and like many of the courses here, if the wind is blowing those even with the lowest of handicaps will struggle to finish the round with a good scorecard. Although this course is a tough one with fast greens and narrow fairways, the scenery is simply breathtaking and even if you finish the round with an awful scorecard, you won’t regret this round of golf. This course manages to incorporate its stunning surroundings into the round, this a must-play course when you are staying in the Dublin area and so it is no surprise that this is the final addition to the Dublin tour.The-Island-Golf-Club

These are just two of the tours we have in Ireland and many are still being put together but there is always the option of creating your own bespoke tour with us and with somewhere as beautiful as Ireland, it would be hard to see why you would want to choose anywhere else for your golf break this Spring…Blog - feedspot

royal-ashdown-forest-golf-club-old-course

The Old Course at the Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club is a very old course but is still consistently ranked as one of the top 100 courses on the British Isles. Although you may feel settled by the fact that the course doesn’t have a single bunker to catch your errant shots, it is still known for being a true test of golf for even those with the lowest handicaps! Along the course there are some beautiful views across Sussex, Surrey and Kent and its location is simply stunning as well. This is a great course to play even if you are not planning on staying!

ring-of-kerry

In Ireland, the Ring of Kerry course is set amongst lakes and mountains to produce a simply stunning course and a testament to that is its placing as one of the top in the province.
