Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas was the first golf club in Spain, inaugurated in 1891, but the course moved to its present location at Bandama in 1956. Designed by the famous duo McKenzie and Ross, Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas is a traditional layout, similar to an old style British course with no frills; just well designed, well maintained and easily walkable. Where it differs is of course in the unique vegetation, tropical flora and views of the volcanic landscape and typical Canarian villages. This is not a long course at 5915 metres off the back, and not particularly difficult with no water hazards, but thoroughly enjoyable to play in a most unspoilt setting. 40 minutes from the resorts in the south but well worth the drive for your next golf holiday to Gran Canaria.
