Salobre golf course is a beautiful 18-hole course just 10 minutes from Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, Salobre has an American influence in design and standards, with buggies compulsory (and included in the green fee). Some holes are reminiscent of Arizona courses with a remote desert setting in spectacular surrounds. The designer (an associate of Trent Jones) made good use of the rolling terrain and natural ravines to create an excellent test of golf, but one which will be appreciated by all golfers, with few forced carries. The course is mature beyond its years, and with its excellent design, condition and location, Salobre is sure to be on many golfers' itineraries for years to come. Soon to be joined by another 18-hole course. A must play next time you're planning a golf holiday to Gran Canaria.
