How safe is your golf holiday?

We would like to assure all clients of Golf Escapes Ltd, exisiting and future, that all monies paid to us are 100% protected.

The law is most definitely an ass when it comes to protecting holidays, but to explain in a nutshell...

If you book a holiday and we book your flights as part of your package (i.e. flights are shown on your confirmation invoice), you will be covered under our ATOL licence 5865. See www.atol.org.uk. 

If you book your own flights, or we have booked them direct onto your credit/debit card, your holiday will be protected under our ABTA licence Y1665.  ABTA give us a figure each year which we have to provide a bond for. This bond is then covered by an insurance policy. See www.abta.co.uk.

If you are booking a holiday that does not include flights in the package, an ATOL will NOT protect you under any circumstances.  There has to be another form of protection such as ABTA or TTA.

However, (and we said the law is an ass!), there is a loophole that allows a company offering golfbreaks (the clue is in the text) to bypass financiallly protecting your holiday if you are staying in a golf resort and playing the resort's associated courses!!  Therefore if you book a holiday in a golf resort with a certain company offering golfbreaks, you MAY NOT BE PROTECTED. You need to check the terms and conditions of the company with which you are spending your hard earned money.
