One of The Algarve's finest, this is one of the most photographed and renowned courses in the world because of the par 3 16th.
This hole requires a shot of more than 200 yards over three spectacular cliffs, with the sandy beach and Atlantic Ocean waiting for an errant shot left of the green. More difficult than the Ocean and with most of the holes featured on the composite 2002 Portuguese Open course, the Royal has numerous sand and water hazards. The original design was by Sir Henry Cotton, however Rocky Roquemore built a new nine holes through the trees, preserving as much of the forest as possible. Superb!
