El Puerto de Santa Maria is renowned for its fine food and wine. The Sherry Bodegas of Osbourne and Terry are well worth a visit. Being a fishing port the local cuisine centres around a wide variety of fish and shellfish with local specialities including asparagus, figs, melons and snails. The harbour area is home to lots of great tapas bars and restaurants which are very popular at lunchtime but really come to life in the evening.

Night life

Evening entertainment is varied and there's lots of choice. There's no doubt the most popular pastime is frequenting the many bars and restaurants but you'll also find a casino, nightclubs and some great flamenco bars.
