A fine 27-hole complex, Islantilla is only one hour's drive from Faro Airport, 15 minutes from the Portuguese border, and is one of Southern Spain's finest courses.
The three nines meander through the pinewoods and many holes enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic. Holes 1 to 9 are hilly with a few blind shots; Holes 10 to 18 are undulating with hanging lies to be expected; Holes 19 to 27 are long but not overly difficult. The wind comes into play frequently. One small criticism is that too much construction off the fairways has tarnished an otherwise beautiful course, but many find the drive from The Algarve worthwhile.
