What's the future for
PGA TOUR – LIV GOLF
Big changes are on the horizon for the PGA Tour. Current commissioner Jay Monahan will step down at the end of his contract in 2026, making way for Brian Rolapp, the Tour’s newly appointed CEO.
Rolapp, a 20-year NFL media veteran, is known for driving major broadcast deals and launching NFL+.
His appointment signals a strategic pivot toward stronger commercial partnerships and global growth.

Monahan’s tenure has been riddled with turbulence, particularly his handling of the proposed merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. While he succeeded in securing bigger purses and launching the new competition, TGL, much of the merger process has remained behind closed doors.
That secrecy has frustrated players and fans alike. Enter Rolapp. While he’s said he wants to “listen to players” and engage more, it’s unclear how transparent he’ll be regarding the future of LIV Golf and Saudi-backed funding. For now, there’s no confirmed timeline for finalising any merger, despite ongoing negotiations.
One thing is certain: the PGA Tour is entering a new commercial era. Between rising prize funds, evolving formats, and global competition, Rolapp’s appointment could be the start of a bold new chapter or just more of the same, depending on how open and innovative he chooses to be.
The 2025 Ryder Cup
The 2025 Ryder Cup. USA vs Europe. The best golfers in the world. Can Europe take down the Americans on their home soil? Or will home advantage count?
I absolutely love the Ryder Cup. It has produced iconic golfing moments throughout the years and certain golfers seem to play the best golf of their life during the tournament,

even if they haven’t even had a Top 20 all season! Poulter comes to mind for team Europe, a man who lived and breathed Blue and Yellow.
What always intrigues me is the captain’s picks, and I think this year will be no different, with the USA you have a number of players outside the top 6 that more than deserve a shot in the final 12. Things have just got interesting with Keegan Bradley winning the Travelers Championship, he could be the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer should he pick himself!
However, I want to hear from everyone who they think will make Europe’s final 6. John Rahm is currently 17th in the Ryder Cup points table – surely you have to take him! Or after his heroics at the 2023 Ryder Cup, does Viktor Hovland make your team? And what do we think about the dual-glove Aaron Rai?
Reply to this email and I would love to know your captain’s picks!

Golf Escapes in the Community
This month, The Golf Trust accomplished something extraordinary: 18 rounds of golf, across 5 countries, in just 6 days to raise funds to purchase three Paragolfers—specialist mobility vehicles that make golf accessible for people with disabilities.
The challenge began at The Shire in London, with the team playing three rounds of golf a day, and concluded at the iconic home of golf, St Andrews.
We at Golf Escapes are proud to support this incredible cause. If you’re able to, please consider donating at The Golf Trust’s Just Give page or to learn more about the life-changing work being done please visit their website The Golf Trust.
