Ballybunion Golf Club - Cashen Course

In the 1980’s for Ballybunion’s Cashen Course the club enlisted the services of Robert Trent Jones to help design a course that fitted in nicely next to the famous Old Course at Ballybunion. Like it’s big brother this course is surrounded by the breath taking beauty that is the west coast of Ireland.
Whilst it is shorter on the card at 6,290 yards from the tips it is thought that the Cashen course is more tricky than the Old course. The Cashen course has the familiar terrain of a course build on sand dunes with wispy long grass waiting serenely at the edge of the holes to capture your ball should you hit an errant shot. The course is maintain to the highest standard and you will need to take your time over your putts as the greens here are quick as you would typically expect from a links course.
The Cashen course is well worth playing so if your thinking of the west Ireland coast for your next golf escape then it is definitely worth considering this little Emerald in the rough. There are options bundle deals if you book this course along side the Old course.
