This week’s blog is an insider’s guide to the Korineum Residences which are situated in North Cyprus. If you’re not so keen on going to Turkey but still want to travel further south than Spain and Portugal to get the scorching weather, then this is perfect for you! For fabulous service, beautiful weather, great food and drink all in a stunning location you need look no further.
The beautifully decorated rooms are hidden away from the rest of the resort amongst pine trees giving you all the privacy you could want during your stay here whilst enabling you plenty of easy access to the resort’s amenities and of course, the golf course. All of the rooms are equipped with a private balcony where you can enjoy views of either the gardens, the Mediterranean or the mountains – you can experience an amazing view here no matter which direction you are facing! Not only can you enjoy free use of the resort’s gym but you can also enjoy use of the clay tennis courts on-site if you’re looking for some activity besides golf. There are also many opportunities for you to just relax and enjoy the fantastic weather in a beautiful place, not only is there a lovely pool area but the hotel provides a free shuttle service to their private area of the beach.
The hotel also boasts a lovely spa and wellness centre where you can enjoy a range of massages and treatments as well as a sauna and Jacuzzi. You can have a quick bite to eat at either the beachside bar or the poolside bar and for bigger meals you have the option of dining at the clubhouse or in one of the A la Carte restaurants in the hotel. This is a perfect location for your next relaxing golf break to Cyprus where you can enjoy the great weather all year round as well as top quality service and great amenities.
Not only does the hotel offer a free shuttle service down to the beach but there is also one that goes to the nearby city of Kyrenia at designated times. Kyrenia is one of the most beautiful towns in Cyprus with its lovely harbour and its backdrop of the mountains. Kyrenia is also know for its history and beautiful architecture which you can enjoy when taking a trip here. You can enjoy long walks and scenic tours around the city before taking a stroll around the harbour and stopping off for a cold drink and a bite to eat at one of the many bars and restaurants sat by the harbour.
There are a wide variety of restaurants here and most of them serve local and traditional Greek dishes for you to sample and enjoy! Although this town is not as lively as those such as Ayia Napa, it holds so much history and culture it would be a shame not to take a trip here, especially if you are enjoying a stay at the beautiful Korineum resort. There are also some smaller neighbouring villages close to Kyrenia where you can experience more of the history of Greece and become at one with the nature that you can immerse yourself in.
Korineum Golf & Country club is situated on the resort and was the first 18-hole golf course to be built in Northern Cyprus. The views from the course are simply breathtaking, on one side of you you can see the glistening Mediterranean Sea and on the other are views of the famous Five Finger mountain range. This course was designed to be playable by golfers of all abilities and ages which makes it a fantastic holiday course as you can take it as seriously as you want to and you can also encourage your family to play along too. Most of the tee shots are aimed into the Mediterranean or towards the mountains which allows you to enjoy the scenery even more.
The golf course is always kept in immaculate condition and with the strategically placed water hazards and bunkers it can be a little challenging even for those of a lower handicap in places! Some of the holes can be very tight and the greens are often predictable but this is a fantastic course and one which holiday-goers love.
The course is also a very interesting shape as it has been formed to run through the existing carob and olive trees, it also undulates gently adding a little extra challenge. With the fact that on nearly every hole you can see the sea and on clear days even Turkey on the horizon as well as the fact that you can enjoy a reasonably challenging course whilst still maintaining the fun element of golf it is any wonder why you wouldn’t choose Korineum Resort and its fantastic golf course to enjoy your next golf break at!
We hope that you enjoyed this week’s blog and that you are now considering a golf holiday to North Cyprus, with the great weather that is practically all year round, beautiful scenery and lovely golf courses as well as some culture and history-filled towns it would be hard to find somewhere any better! We realise that many of you are concerned about travelling to Turkey and although we can reassure you that it is business as usual there, North Cyprus, and more specifically, the Korineum Resort, is a great alternative where you can still get the first-class service and stunning weather!
