The course is situated on an elevated position of 550 metres above sea level which means that even in the height of summer, a breeze will still influence the difficulty of this course! The course blends effortlessly into its surroundings and is a firm favourite of golfers who come to Cyprus. Although the course isn’t especially long at just under 6,000 yards, its fairways are lined with many fruit trees and grape vines and boast slopes which can prove challenging to golfers with higher handicaps. This is a great course which will require golfers of all abilities to play their best game of golf if they hope to finish the round with a good scorecard!

The five-star Aphrodite Hills Hotel is situated in the heart of the Aphrodite Hills Resort and offers brilliant leisure facilities, great service and entertainment options as well as lovely accommodation. The Aphrodite Hills Holiday Residences are the perfect choice if you are looking for a more intimate golf break as you can enjoy either a small apartment or large private villa but still have all of the facilities and luxuries of the excellent Aphrodite Hills Resort. The benefit of staying within the Holiday Residences is that you can use the self-catering facilities within your property or enjoy the three different restaurants on the Aphrodite Hills Resort.

The Aphrodite Hills, PGA National Cyprus was designed by the fantastic Cabell Robinson and was opened to the public in 2002. This course is a very impressive one and is the perfect mix of pot bunkers, stunning fairways or lush Bermuda grass and tiered greens. The course meanders through indigenous olive and carob trees and is separated by a breathtaking ravine making it a visually spectacular course. This is a truly stunning course but is a difficult one for those of all handicaps so make sure that you bring your best game to the first tee!

We hope that you have enjoyed this week’s blog and that when you are considering your options for your next golf escape, look no further than the wonders that Cyprus and these fantastic resorts have to offer you…

Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus – Golf Resort of Europe 2018

If you are looking for somewhere to venture to for your golf escape this year then look no further than the fantastic Aphrodite Hills Resort which is situated in Paphos, South Cyprus. In December, IAGTO named Aphrodite Hills Resort as the 2018 European Golf Resort of the Year in the prestigious annual IAGTO awards. Aphrodite Hills Resort was competing against hundreds of different brilliant golf resorts and it isn’t hard to see why they stole the crown for this award.

The Aphrodite Hills Resort is the only comprehensive golf, leisure and real estate development in Cyprus and has been developed over the last 10 years to produce this luxurious and unique resort. You can choose from staying at the luxurious five-star Aphrodite Hills Hotel or you can stay at The Residences in one of the fantastic apartments of villas which range from one bedroom to five bedrooms with their private swimming pools and fully equipped kitchens. The resort boasts a fantastic location nestled in the hills above Paphos and surrounded by the stunning multi award-winning golf course. There is a range of different luxurious amenities and activities for you to enjoy on the resort with the Tennis Academy, the Greco-Roman Retreat Spa, the exclusive Zias Beach Club, nature trails for jogging or horse-riding and many other activities await you at the resort. Not only is there so much to do and see, but there is also so much to eat and drink. The resort boasts 18 different restaurants and a wide array of different bars, so you are never far away from somewhere brilliant to unwind, relax and enjoy good food and drink.

The brilliant five-star Aphrodite Hills Hotel is situated at the heart of the Aphrodite Hills Resort and boasts luxurious and contemporary accommodation and facilities. Each of the rooms is beautifully decorated and boasts a private terrace from which you can either see out across the pool, gardens, the magnificent golf course or the sea. Just two minutes’ walk from the hotel will take you out to the brilliant Aphrodite Hills PGA National Cyprus sits. Most of our packages to the hotel are B&B and so for your other meals you can enjoy venturing out to one of the 18 different restaurants that sit within the Aphrodite Hills Resort. This is a beautiful, luxurious hotel with so much to do and see including relaxing in the Retreat Spa or on the private beach which includes a beach club and a kids’ club if you choose to come here as a family.

The Aphrodite Hills Holiday Residences are perfect if you are looking for a spacious place to stay with your own fully-fitted kitchen which means that you don’t have to eat out all the time and you can enjoy cooking and eating a meal out on your private terrace attached to whichever apartment or villa you choose to rent. From the Residences, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Mediterranean, the Aphrodite Hills golf course and the unspoilt natural landscape of Paphos. Just a short walk from the Residences is the Village Square and the clubhouse where you can find a great array of different bars and restaurants and enjoy what you find whilst soaking up your beautiful surroundings.

No matter whether you feel that the Hotel or the Residences are the perfect fit for you and whoever you are travelling with to the Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort, you will get to experience the same luxury experience with all of the amenities, facilities and surroundings to enjoy. Whether you want to spend your days hiking along the trails and enjoying the different sporting facilities including a gym, or if you prefer to relax on the golden sand or in the Retreat Spa where you can choose from a range of different massages and health and beauty treatments, Aphrodite Hills has you covered. The best thing that the Hotel and the Residences have in common is the outstanding Aphrodite Hills Golf Course which was designed by the acclaimed architect Cabell Robinson.

Re-opened in January 2018 after a full refurbishment, the newly appointed PGA National, Cyprus boasts a unique layout across over 6,289 metres and overlooking beautiful landscape. This magnificent 18-hole championship golf course officially opened in 2002 and it is the perfect challenge for golfers of all abilities. With difficult pot bunkers, manicured fairways or lush Bermuda grass and tiered greens, this is an enjoyable but tricky course. The course follows the contours of two plateaux with the fairways cut through olive groves, lakes and the villas of the Residences. As you play the course, you wind through indigenous olive and carob trees and experience some breath-taking scenery including a dramatic ravine along the course from which you can see across the Mediterranean Sea. This ravine can make play difficult, as during the 7th hole you must travel your ball across the 130-metre gorge. This is quite a hilly course but with our packages, a buggy is included to make your life easier and you can still see out across the stunning landscape.

This is a truly breath-taking course and many of the most memorable holes from the course run alongside or across the central ravine. After your round, enjoy some time in the extensive clubhouse which overlooks the 18th green and is somewhere which is perfect to enjoy a well-earned beverage and a bite to eat. This course is a spectacular one and one that tops off the luxurious and exclusive Aphrodite Hills Resort perfectly.

We hope that you have enjoyed this week’s blog and that when you are considering booking your next golf holiday, you think of Cyprus and this award-winning, fantastic resort which has everything that you could possibly need for the perfect Golf Escape.

Cyprus Special

This week’s blog is on the joys of Cyprus and some of the best hotels and golf clubs that Cyprus has to offer you for your next golf break. Cyprus boasts brilliant long summers right through from mid-May to mid-October and even at other times of the year, the weather is still mild and mostly dry which makes it an ideal destination for your next golf escape. With beautiful beaches, luxurious hotels and fantastic golf courses you need to look no further than Cyprus when thinking about planning your next golf holiday…

The five-star Aphrodite Hills Hotel is situated right in the heart of the Aphrodite Hills Resort in Paphos. The hotel is a perfect example of how classic and contemporary styles can be combined in order to create a luxury hotel within stunning surroundings that boasts excellent facilities and accommodation. Each of the 290 opulent guest rooms each feature their own private terrace or balcony where you will either be able to see out across the Aphrodite Hills course, over the hotel’s gardens or out to sea. The rooms are all fitted with everything that you would expect from a hotel of this standard including a spacious luxury bathroom, bathrobes and slippers, a mini bar and a satellite TV. Dining at the resort is excellent, there is a wide range of different restaurants and bars where you can find everything from evening fine dining to local casual daytime dining. Some of the most popular places include the Greek Cypriot tavern Pithari Tavern where you can eat out on the terrace that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea or the Gate to Indian Restaurant where you can enjoy innovative Indian cuisine within an elegant setting.

You can spend your time here relaxing by the large outdoor pool and if you prefer somewhere quieter you can even make use of either the indoor pool or the adult-only swimming pool. There is also a 24-hour gym and the Aphrodite Hills Tennis Academy as well as two brilliant golf courses to play on: Aphrodite Hills, PGA National Cyprus and Minthis Hills.

The five-star Thanos Almyra Hotel is set amongst beautifully landscaped tropical grounds just five minutes’ walk from Paphos Harbour. There are no fewer than four freshwater pools for you to swim in or relax around and if that isn’t enough relaxation for you then you can enjoy time in the fully-fitted spa where you can choose from a range of holistic treatments and massages as well as the sauna and the gym. Each of the rooms are spacious and either have floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies or terraces from which you can look out to the stunning views of the garden or the Mediterranean Sea. They also have a satellite TV, a minibar and a safe. There is plenty of choice when it comes to food and drink at the hotel as there are four different restaurants which serve different cuisines ranging from traditional Cypriot dishes to international dishes. As well as the hotel’s fantastic restaurants, you are within short walking distance of Paphos Harbour where you can find many different restaurants and bars as well as the Medieval Castle of Paphos which is the perfect place to explore. This is a beautiful hotel and one where you can spend your time relaxing, playing golf or exploring the local area…

Thanos Annabelle Hotel is another five-star luxury hotel which is set amongst tropical gardens which boast palm trees, flowers and the seafront. Once you have stepped out of the hotel, you are only eight minutes’ walk from the golden beach but right at the hotel you can enjoy relaxing around the large outdoor pool with its swim-in caves. Whilst you are not by the pool or on one of the great golf courses nearby, you can take a walk through the landscaped gardens to admire the waterfalls or even use the spa at Thanos Almyra Hotel. All of the hotel’s rooms are elegantly designed with marble features and fitted with the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this standard including bathrobes and slippers as well as a minibar, a satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. The Annabelle’s on-site Mediterranean Restaurant serves delicious traditional Cypriot and Greek dishes as well as international dishes. Of course, as you are so close to Paphos Harbour whilst staying here, you can venture out for food and drink if you would prefer. Whilst you are out of the hotel, you can take a trip to the local shops or take advantage of the watersports and other activities that are available in the local area. This is the perfect destination for your next golf escape and it isn’t hard to see why…

Thanos Almyra Hotel and Thanos Annabelle Hotel are both beautifully designed and boast of all the facilities and qualities of five-star hotels but the best thing about staying in either of these lovely hotels is the fact that within a short distance of both hotels lie three brilliant golf courses: Elea Golf Club, Secret Valley and Minthis Hills.

Minthis Hills Golf Club is just 25 minutes’ drive outside of Paphos Town and sits 550 metres above sea level which means that from the course you can see stunning views across the surroundings which include the grounds of a 12th century monastery. This is a very scenic course as not only are there stunning views to see but the fairways are lined with fruit trees and grapevines. Although the course is not the longest at 5843 metres long, it is a tricky one which requires accuracy if you are to avoid the various hazards including water, trees and bunkers and not only are there hazards on the course, but due to the position of the course, there is a constant sea breeze which can sway your game off track! The signature hole of the game is arguably the 13th hole which is a difficult par 3 where the green is situated on an island which is surrounded by water. This is a seemingly straightforward course but one that must be approached strategically – a brilliant addition to your golf break to Cyprus.

We hope that you have enjoyed this week’s blog and that you can appreciate all the brilliant hotels and golf courses that you could enjoy if you book your next golf escape to Cyprus

Insider’s Guide to Thanos Hotels

This week’s blog is an insider’s guide to the Thanos hotels: Annabelle and Almyra. These two five-star, fantastic hotels are situated in Paphos and whilst you are staying at either of them you will have easy access to three brilliant golf courses: Elea Golf Club, Minthis Hills and Secret Valley. When you are thinking about your next golf break, Paphos is a great consideration with practically year round golfing weather and these two beautiful and luxurious resorts.

Thanos Hotel Annabelle is situated just an eight minutes’ walk to the beach and is set amongst tropical landscaped gardens with palm trees and flowers. Whilst you are not out enjoying a round on one of the three local golf courses, you can enjoy relaxing around the large outdoor pool with its swim-in caves or relax in the sauna or take a trip next-door to Hotel Almyra to use the spa facilities there. All of the rooms are decorated with elegant marble features and all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this standard including a satellite TV, an elegant ensuite bathroom as well as a minibar and free Wi-Fi.

As the Annabelle overlooks the Port of Paphos, you are within a short distance of all of the attractions there including watersports and historical buildings. Of course, there are also many restaurants and bars for you to try whilst staying here but if you would rather eat within the hotel there are two excellent restaurants. The hotel boasts a Mediterranean Restaurant which serves traditional Cypriot and Greek dishes as well as international cuisine and whilst dining, you can enjoy views of the sea. The hotel’s main restaurant, Fontana, serves buffet-style meals.

With so much to do, see, eat and drink both within the hotel’s grounds and in the local area of Paphos, there is no surprise that this is a highly recommended destination for your next golf holiday to Paphos with great weather, fantastic golf and luxury accommodation.

Hotel Annabelle’s sister, Hotel Almyra, is right next-door and boasts the same excellent location as Hotel Annabelle but is only a five minutes’ walk to the beach as well as just a five minutes’ walk to Paphos Harbour. The hotel boasts four freshwater pools for you to relax around whilst you are not out on one of the three great golf courses which are all close to the hotel. The Almyra boasts an excellent spa with a sauna, a gym and a wide range of holistic treatments and massages for you to choose from.

This is a beautifully luxurious hotel and the rooms are all spacious and light with either floor-to-ceiling windows or a private balcony or terrace from which you can enjoy the stunning views of tropical gardens and the sea. The rooms also feature a minibar, a satellite TV, a minibar and a safe. Like its sister hotel, Almyra offers guests the choice of four different restaurants including the main restaurant where you can enjoy a traditional Cypriot breakfast in the morning. Of course, being just five minutes’ walk into the Port of Paphos means that you have plenty of choices when it comes to food and drink but you can also enjoy restaurants serving traditional and local cuisine as well as international dishes right at the hotel.

Hotel Almyra is a great hotel in a superb location and is truly befitting of its five-star rating which makes it a perfect hotel for your next golf break to Cyprus.

There are three courses which guests at the Annabelle and Almyra tend to play due to them being great courses within a short distance of the hotels. Elea Golf Club is one of the golf courses and boasts a stunning location set above the Mediterranean Sea. Elea Golf Club is a tricky course with an abundance of bunkers and so requires strategic play in order to navigate your way around them. The course’s signature hole is its 17th which is a long par-4 which features dramatic bunkering and a sloping fairway. This is a great course with excellent views and is nearby to both Thanos hotels.

Minthis Hills Golf Club is just 25 minutes’ drive from the town of Paphos and is located 550 metres above sea level which means that even during the summer months, you will have to endure the winds from the sea which could strongly affect your play if you aren’t careful. This course blends effortlessly into its surroundings with fruit trees and grape vines lining the fairways which wind and slope through the hills. The course boasts a wide range of different holes which makes it a great holiday course but although the course looks straightforward, you will need to play accurately if you want to score well here.

Last, but not least, is the 18-hole championship course at Secret Valley Golf Club. The course boasts an interesting layout with an interesting backdrop of rock formations and mature trees. The back nine holes are certainly more challenging than the front nine but if you can manage to keep the ball in play and avoid the many water hazards, you can score close to your handicap. Although this is a long course, there are many different tee option which means that it is still suitable for players of all handicaps!

Both Annabelle and Almyra are stunning hotels with all of the amenities that you would expect from five-star hotels and so it isn’t a surprise that they are top recommendations for your next golf holiday to Cyprus especially with three brilliant golf courses all within close proximity of the hotels.

The Best Unusual Places to Golf

This week’s blog is a guide to some of the most unusual places and courses that you will get to enjoy a round of golf on. In many incidences, it is the case that golf is the main highlight of your holiday and it is often easy to find a fantastic hotel almost anywhere but these are courses which are well worth basing your entire holiday around…

Fist up we have Jardin Tecina which is arguably one of the most special and impressive courses in the Canary Islands. You tee off at the top of a hill and then for the duration of the course you slowly zigzag back down without playing one single uphill shot. With the course measuring a long 6,900 yards from the back tees it is not an easy round of golf. However, with the wide fairways and option of closer tees it is playable by golfers of all standards. The views from every shot are simply stunning with trees, flowers and other tropical plants adding to the stunning panoramic views of the ocean. Although all of the holes are brilliant, there are a few spectacular ones which you definitely won’t forget for a while like the downhill short 4th hole where if you don’t place your ball carefully it may get swallowed up by the ravine which is on your left. The finishing hole for this course is a great one where you will have to hit two well-placed shots in order to score well on this hole and the entrance to the green is framed by two impressive palm trees. This is a beautiful but challenging round of golf and one not to miss out on!

Up next we have the Crete Golf Club which is located in the hills of Hersonnisos and boasts spectacular views from this ideal location. Not only is this course built in a beautiful location but Crete’s year-round mild climate provides excellent golfing conditions. There are a wide variety of holes that will challenge even the golfers with the lowest handicaps here from short par-3s to long par-5s. As you play the course, the fairways wind through rocks and ravines where you can experience stunning views of the mountains and the coast. This is a beautiful course with some very memorable holes and scenery for you to experience – another course definitely not to be missed out on!

The four-star Bogogno Golf Resort is situated in Lake Maggiore where you can experience beautiful surroundings which can be enjoyed even more so when you are playing on the two parkland golf courses situated on the resort – the Bonora and the Del Conte Course. The rooms are all spacious and boast their own private terraces which overlook either one of the golf courses or the pool areas. This is a beautiful resort with some stunning surroundings and great facilities including two tennis courts, an outdoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi as well as a great restaurant in which you can dine outside enjoying the views. Both of the golf courses onsite are regarded as two of the finest courses in Italy and blend effortlessly into their Italian countryside surroundings. The Bonora course is the more challenging of the two courses with its undulating fairways with many strategically placed hazards for you to navigate around.

Minthis Hills Golf Club is just a short drive from the bustling town of Paphos but far enough from the town that its setting is tranquil and relaxing set in the grounds of a twelfth century monastery. The course sits so naturally in its surroundings and offers stunning views away from the hustle and bustle of the towns nearby. There are a wide variety of different holes here and many will leave a lasting impression like the short 12th where you have to navigate the valley on your left and the challenging 17th hole where you will need to be very accurate and strong to reach the green in just two shots. The fairways are far from flat and are lined thickly with fruit trees and grape vines which can make this a challenge, however, with its range of tee options it is playable by golfers of all abilities which makes it a great course for an enjoyable golf break to Cyprus.

Up next we have the five-star Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. The hotel rooms here all boast a private balcony or terrace as well as a flat-screen TV, walk-in closet and other luxury furnishings. This is a very special golf resort and whilst staying here you will experience the height of luxury wherever you go within the resort. The resort boasts many facilities including a shooting centre, water sports, tennis courts as well as a private beach and a fantastic spa facility in which you can enjoy a range of different treatments. Whilst you are here you will never be short of somewhere fantastic to dine as there are seven superb restaurants where you can find anything from seafood to Italian to International cuisines. There are three fabulous golf courses on the resort, each of which offers something different from the last and will complete your luxury golfing experience here.

Hotel Antik is a fantastic, new, four-star hotel situated in the marina of Balchik and is just three minutes’ walk from the beach. All of the rooms here are beautifully designed and fully-fitted with all of the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this rating. Within walking distance, you can enjoy a wide variety of different bars and restaurants but the hotel’s on-site restaurant is superb and offers delicious food. With all of this as well as three signature golf courses within a 15 minutes’ drive away it would be hard to find anywhere better for your next golf break.

Another fantastic property located in Balchik is the four-star Hotel Mistral which overlooks the marina and all of the rooms here have stunning views out across the Black Sea. You are only a three minute walk from the beach here and being so close to the marina means that you are never short of somewhere fantastic to eat or drink. However, if you prefer to stay in, you can enjoy local and international dishes at the open-air restaurant at the hotel where you can enjoy views of the marina whilst you eat. This is a stunning hotel in a perfect location being in the centre of the marina but also only 10km from three superb golf courses.

Last but not least, we have two fantastic and unusual golf courses situated in Bulgaria. Thracian Cliffs is considered to be “Gary Player’s gem” and its setting is breathtaking. Every one of the 18 holes runs alongside the coast of the Black Sea and we can guarantee that you will never play a course anything like this one. Although this course seems daunting, with its many different tee positions, it is possible for golfers of all abilities to play and enjoy a round here – even if your golf is poor, the surroundings are anything but! The 7th and 8th holes are particularly tricky where if you are not entirely accurate you will lose your ball very easily. It is a tough course and one where you will have to take a lot of risks (and many might not pay off!) but it is one of a kind and definitely one that has to be on ever discerning golfer’s must-play list!

BlackSeaRama is another Gary Player special. This course is relatively flat, set upon the cliffs overlooking the Black Sea, although the course is flat, being so high means that the wind will affect your play and make scoring close to your handicap very tricky indeed. There are also a fair few water hazards that come into play, especially in the later holes which add to the trickiness of this course. Its finishing hole is the signature hole here, the 18th is a par-3 over the valley and the views are simply breathtaking. This is another spectacular course that you could easily base your holiday around…

We hope that this blog has inspired your next golf break…it isn’t too late to book for this year!

beach

In South Cyprus are four of the best golf courses you will ever have the opportunity to play: Aphrodite Hills, Elea Golf Club, Minthis Hills and Secret Valley. All of these golf courses are within close proximity of Paphos and all of them come highly recommended by us to you…

golf-1

Aphrodite Hills is considered to be a tough but playable enough that it is still an extremely enjoyable round of golf. The views from the course are spectacular and it is designed in such a picturesque way that you will struggle to draw your eyes away from the scenery and concentrate on the golf! The 3rd and the 7th holes are spectacular as the course is played on two fairly level landforms which are separated by a deep canyon which is incorporated into these two holes. With the fantastic scenery of the carob and olive trees as well as views of the Mediterranean Sea, challenging pot bunkers and a wide variety of different styles and shapes of holes this is a course not to be missed out on!

aphrodite-hills

Elea Golf Club is a stunning course that blends with the beautiful landscape around it and is one that all golfers love. One thing that you will notice when playing here is the abundance of bunkers that are strategically positioned to make play very difficult on some holes. A perfect example of this is the par-4 4th hole on which you need to navigate around two huge, irregularly shaped bunkers right from the tee and then navigate past some slightly smaller ones which guard the bridged green! You definitely need to concentrate on this course to steer clear of the bunkers and the water hazards that lie waiting for errant shots. This is another great golf course and is rated as the number one course in Cyprus so make sure that you grab the opportunity to see why!

elea

Minthis Hills is a beautiful course set at 550 metres above sea level which means that both the views and the sea breeze are overwhelming at times! This is another course in the area which truly blends in with its surroundings making for a very picturesque round of golf. This course is a course which is playable by those of almost all handicaps which makes it s great holiday course for you to play. Concentration is needed, especially on the back nine, in order to score well as the holes are all quite different with different challenges from the 12th with the valley alongside the left of the fairway to the uphill 14th and 17th holes. Yet another fantastic course that is perfect for your next golf break to Cyprus.

minthis-hills

Last, but not least is the Secret Valley golf club which starts off as an easy round before gradually getting more difficult as you start to play through the holes, if you can avoid hitting errant shots into the water hazards along the course then you have a good chance at playing to your handicap here. With a lovely variety of holes, a beautiful backdrop of rock formations and different trees it is no surprise that golfers enjoy this course. With all four of these courses offering you a very different round of golf with guaranteed fantastic weather and beautiful scenery it isn’t a shock that Cyprus is becoming more and more attractive to golfers.

Just like its sister hotel, the rooms are fitted with all of the amenities you would expect from a five-star hotel like this. The hotel boasts four large freshwater pools for you to enjoy and has the beach right on its doorstep which means that you will never be short of somewhere stunning to relax and enjoy the grounds of the hotel. Two of the pools are adults-only which means that you can relax somewhere quiet without children or if you have your children there are pools where they can swim away from those who want the peace and quiet! Guests who stay here often play the same four golf courses that those who stay at the Annabelle Hotel play as they are fantastic courses which are close to the hotels. Unlike its sister hotel, Hotel Almyra feature a spa and wellness centre with a wide range of holistic treatments, a gym and a sauna. Most guess that stay in these hotels enjoy a half-board package and the Amyra’s main buffet restaurant serves a full continental breakfast and their other restaurants serve a variety of different cuisine from traditional Cypriot dishes to different international cuisine. The beautifully decorated rooms are hidden away from the rest of the resort amongst pine trees giving you all the privacy you could want during your stay here whilst enabling you plenty of easy access to the resort’s amenities and of course, the golf course. All of the rooms are equipped with a private balcony where you can enjoy views of either the gardens, the Mediterranean or the mountains – you can experience an amazing view here no matter which direction you are facing! Not only can you enjoy free use of the resort’s gym but you can also enjoy use of the clay tennis courts on-site if you’re looking for some activity besides golf. There are also many opportunities for you to just relax and enjoy the fantastic weather in a beautiful place, not only is there a lovely pool area but the hotel provides a free shuttle service to their private area of the beach.

The hotel also boasts a lovely spa and wellness centre where you can enjoy a range of massages and treatments as well as a sauna and Jacuzzi. You can have a quick bite to eat at either the beachside bar or the poolside bar and for bigger meals you have the option of dining at the clubhouse or in one of the A la Carte restaurants in the hotel. This is a perfect location for your next relaxing golf break to Cyprus where you can enjoy the great weather all year round as well as top quality service and great amenities.

6

Not only does the hotel offer a free shuttle service down to the beach but there is also one that goes to the nearby city of Kyrenia at designated times. Kyrenia is one of the most beautiful towns in Cyprus with its lovely harbour and its backdrop of the mountains. Kyrenia is also know for its history and beautiful architecture which you can enjoy when taking a trip here. You can enjoy long walks and scenic tours around the city before taking a stroll around the harbour and stopping off for a cold drink and a bite to eat at one of the many bars and restaurants sat by the harbour.

7

There are a wide variety of restaurants here and most of them serve local and traditional Greek dishes for you to sample and enjoy! Although this town is not as lively as those such as Ayia Napa, it holds so much history and culture it would be a shame not to take a trip here, especially if you are enjoying a stay at the beautiful Korineum resort. There are also some smaller neighbouring villages close to Kyrenia where you can experience more of the history of Greece and become at one with the nature that you can immerse yourself in.

Korineum Golf & Country club is situated on the resort and was the first 18-hole golf course to be built in Northern Cyprus. The views from the course are simply breathtaking, on one side of you you can see the glistening Mediterranean Sea and on the other are views of the famous Five Finger mountain range. This course was designed to be playable by golfers of all abilities and ages which makes it a fantastic holiday course as you can take it as seriously as you want to and you can also encourage your family to play along too. Most of the tee shots are aimed into the Mediterranean or towards the mountains which allows you to enjoy the scenery even more.

3

The golf course is always kept in immaculate condition and with the strategically placed water hazards and bunkers it can be a little challenging even for those of a lower handicap in places! Some of the holes can be very tight and the greens are often predictable but this is a fantastic course and one which holiday-goers love.

4

The course is also a very interesting shape as it has been formed to run through the existing carob and olive trees, it also undulates gently adding a little extra challenge. With the fact that on nearly every hole you can see the sea and on clear days even Turkey on the horizon as well as the fact that you can enjoy a reasonably challenging course whilst still maintaining the fun element of golf it is any wonder why you wouldn’t choose Korineum Resort and its fantastic golf course to enjoy your next golf break at!
