Where is Costa Navarino?
Mainland Greece. More specifically Costa Navarino is situated in Messina one of the most celebrated region of the Peloponnese.
How do I get to Costa Navarino?
The quickest and easiest way to get to resort is too fly to Kalamata airport it is then just a 45 minute transfer to the resort.
You can also fly to Athens in which case you can either hire a car and it will take around 3 hours to drive to Costa Navarino or we can organise a coach transfer which will take roughly 4 hours.

What makes Costa Navarino a desirable golfing destination?
The area was chosen with golfers in mind. Greece had not previously been thought of as a golfing destination but a businessman by the name of Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos decided that he wanted to change that and set about buying the land that now makes up the resorts and the courses. Since it’s inception the resort has grown in stature and reputation and has now opened 2 new courses which means it is well worth a visit for anybody looking to play the highest quality courses and experience exceptional service levels.
Where to stay in Costa Navarino?
Currently there are two hotels to choose from, The Westin Resort and The Romanos Hotel.
Which Hotel should I choose?
Both hotels are on the same resort and both have access to the resorts main facilities such as the main swimming pool, the square, waterpark, bowling alley and beach club, spa and fitness centre.
Both hotel offer the height of luxury and have exceptional service levels throughout. The main difference is that the Romanos is a little quieter and lends itself slightly to adults rather than families. Both hotels however can cater for any request and it really is personal preference and availability that will determine where you stay.
Can I access the golf courses from these hotels?
Yes, there are free shuttles from the hotel reception to all courses. The Dunes Course is walkable from both hotels, but you can get a lift to the clubhouse from the reception it takes about 2 minutes.
The Bay Course is a 10 minute transfer and The Hills Course and The Olympic Course are 15 minutes, all of which are catered for on the free shuttle services, which are modern clean and stylish.
Are there any other hotels or places to stay?
There are two new hotels that are expected to be ready by the end of 2023 so watch this space. There is also options to hire private villas with far reaching views of the bay, complete with private infinity pools. Please enquire for further details.
There are now 4 courses in Costa Navarino and it is hard to say which is the best one as they all offer something different and the condition of them all is outstanding.
The Dunes Course
The Dunes Course was opened in 2010 and was designed by Bernhard Langer. It has had the most time to mature and as such is the most established of the 4 courses. With undulating fairways, views out to sea and greens that role fast and true, this is the championship course that definitely warrants a visit.
The Bay Course
The Bay Course is a favourite here at Golf Escapes, it is shorter that The Dunes but a little tighter. As the name suggest this course is built along the bay and therefore a number of the holes are situated just yards from the sea, whilst others look down over the course and out at the stunning turquoise water of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Hills Course
The Hills Course is arguably the best course of the four however four different people could choose any of the courses as the best. Holes 11 to 17 on The Hills Course could be considered the best finishing stretch of golf in all of Europe. This is another Championship course and does measure fairly long from the tips at 6865 yards. When playing this course you are at one with nature and the are views out over hills for miles around.
The Olympic Course
The Olympic Course is serviced by the same beautiful clubhouse as The Hills Course. This course is a little tighter that the Hills but is more scorable with some shorter par 4’s and stunning par 3’s. The biggest take away from this course however is the views of the bay, you are up high over the bay and you can see the resort in his entirety the back drop to the holes around the turn are out of this world and you will find yourself taking many a selfie!
