The Insider’s Guide to the Fuerteventura Princess…
This week’s blog is an insiders guide to the fantastic Fuerteventura Princess Hotel. This blog will tell you everything that you need to know about Fuerteventura, the hotel and the fantastic golf you will get the opportunity to play when you decide to stay here. With the nights drawing in and the weather getting noticeably colder, it is definitely time to think about when you are going to take your next golf break to the sun and this is a perfect one to consider with Fuerteventura’s year-round spring climate!
Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands and can offer you everything that anyone could possibly want on their next golf break. You are never far from a beautiful sandy beach and the four golf courses here are all superb. Fuerteventura, like the other Canary Islands, boasts about 3,000 hours of sunshine per year which is something us Brits can only dream of! The spring-like climate makes this island ideal for a golfing holiday as you will always be warm enough to enjoy the beaches and sunbathe around the pool, but not too sweltering (especially if you go in autumn and springtime) that you can’t enjoy the fantastic golf that is on offer here! With so much to do and see here from over 150 long, sandy beaches with coves to the watersports you can enjoy on the beach to finding out about the history of Fuerteventura – you could certainly never be bored or short of fun and interesting things to do here.
Set on the beachfront of Playa Jandia is the beautiful four-star Fuerteventura Princess Hotel. The hotel offers you a range of activities that you can enjoy from swimming gin one of the outdoor pools to playing tennis to the gym. All of the rooms are fully air-conditioned and come with a satellite TV as well as either a balcony or a terrace that you can enjoy beautiful sea views from. If you are less into activities, then the hotel features a lovely spa which boasts a sauna and a Turkish Bath! If you are making this trip into a family holiday, then there is definitely something for the kids here too with both a kid’s club with a mini disco as well as a maxi-club with a games room for teenagers.
The hotel is set amongst tropical gardens and after a long round of golf you can take a walk around and just down to the beach or relax around one of the four outdoor pools available before enjoying a few refreshing drinks at one of the bars around the hotel. There are two restaurants, the main restaurant serves a buffet at breakfast and dinner with themed nights twice a week. Restaurant La Choza is where you can go for late breakfast, snacks and lunch and you can enjoy your meal out on the terrace which overlooks the beach. After you have had a lovely dinner, every night, there are shows in the evening and several nights a week you can enjoy live music at the hotel which provides a lovely holiday atmosphere!
The hotel is situated in an ideal location, just seconds from the beach and only 8km from the town of Jandia. In Jandia you can find lots of different bars and restaurants, this means that if you are tired of eating at the hotel you definitely have various other options to explore being so close to the town!
This is a fantastic hotel and is a short distance from the fantastic Jandia Golf Course…
Jandia Golf Course is located right in the heart of Jandia and is surrounded by beautiful white beaches and stunning scenery. The club offers fantastic facilities and a great round of golf that is definitely one to play. The course and its facilities are at harmony with their surroundings, the course route runs through a valley which is bordered with exotic wildlife and some superb views. The course is considered to be of medium-high difficulty, as it is quite tight in places, but is so at one with nature that even if you are not scoring so well you will definitely still appreciate a round or two here! Furthermore, with four sets of tees at each hole it is easy to make sure that everyone has a chance at getting a fair scorecard.
The facilities at the club include a driving range with 20 covered bays, a putting green, a chipping green and a practice field but little compares to actually playing this scenic course. The course covers 5,857 metres and many of those metres are taken up with obstacles from the four lakes to the dry riverbeds to the natural wildlife that you can enjoy (and try to avoid!) throughout the length of the course. This is quite a hilly course and so it can be recommended that you hire a buggy to avoid tiring out before you have even played many holes.
This is a truly fantastic, challenging course with some truly breathtaking views and one that is great if you are looking for a challenge but also if you just want to casually play and enjoy a great course when you are on holiday! This course definitely tops off staying at the Fuerteventura and the course and the hotel are certainly a winning combination for your next golf break to the Canary Islands!
We hope that you enjoyed this blog and that when you are thinking about how grey and miserable it is outside that you think about the Fuerteventura Princess and Jandia Golf and consider booking your next golf break to escape the cold and long English wintertime!
