This Mediterranean island is perfect for both a relaxing and an action-packed golf escape. You can spend hours relaxing on the beautiful, sandy beaches or by the pools at the luxury hotels or you can spend hours discovering the history and culture of local towns and taking part in the vast amount of sporting activities which are always on your doorstep here.

In South Cyprus are four of the best golf courses you will ever have the opportunity to play: Aphrodite Hills, Elea Golf Club, Minthis Hills and Secret Valley. All of these golf courses are within close proximity of Paphos and all of them come highly recommended by us to you…

Aphrodite Hills is considered to be a tough but playable enough that it is still an extremely enjoyable round of golf. The views from the course are spectacular and it is designed in such a picturesque way that you will struggle to draw your eyes away from the scenery and concentrate on the golf! The 3^rd and the 7^th holes are spectacular as the course is played on two fairly level landforms which are separated by a deep canyon which is incorporated into these two holes. With the fantastic scenery of the carob and olive trees as well as views of the Mediterranean Sea, challenging pot bunkers and a wide variety of different styles and shapes of holes this is a course not to be missed out on!

Elea Golf Club is a stunning course that blends with the beautiful landscape around it and is one that all golfers love. One thing that you will notice when playing here is the abundance of bunkers that are strategically positioned to make play very difficult on some holes. A perfect example of this is the par-4 4^th hole on which you need to navigate around two huge, irregularly shaped bunkers right from the tee and then navigate past some slightly smaller ones which guard the bridged green! You definitely need to concentrate on this course to steer clear of the bunkers and the water hazards that lie waiting for errant shots. This is another great golf course and is rated as the number one course in Cyprus so make sure that you grab the opportunity to see why!

Minthis Hills is a beautiful course set at 550 metres above sea level which means that both the views and the sea breeze are overwhelming at times! This is another course in the area which truly blends in with its surroundings making for a very picturesque round of golf. This course is a course which is playable by those of almost all handicaps which makes it s great holiday course for you to play. Concentration is needed, especially on the back nine, in order to score well as the holes are all quite different with different challenges from the 12^th with the valley alongside the left of the fairway to the uphill 14^th and 17^th holes. Yet another fantastic course that is perfect for your next golf break to Cyprus.

Last, but not least is the Secret Valley golf club which starts off as an easy round before gradually getting more difficult as you start to play through the holes, if you can avoid hitting errant shots into the water hazards along the course then you have a good chance at playing to your handicap here. With a lovely variety of holes, a beautiful backdrop of rock formations and different trees it is no surprise that golfers enjoy this course. With all four of these courses offering you a very different round of golf with guaranteed fantastic weather and beautiful scenery it isn’t a shock that Cyprus is becoming more and more attractive to golfers.

When considering where to stay to play these beautiful courses in South Cyprus we cannot recommend highly enough the Thanos Hotels or the Aphrodite Hills hotel and residences but if you are looking to perhaps go to North Cyprus which is equally as beautiful then be sure to take a look at Korineum Residences.

The Korineum Residences have spacious, well-appointed rooms with private balconies and on-site there is a fantastic 18-hole golf course, an outdoor pool and a luxury spa. At the spa you can enjoy a range of different treatments as well as the Jacuzzi and sauna or you can choose to relax around the outdoor pool after a round on the golf course. Korineum Golf & Country Club is the first 18-hole golf course in North Cyprus and it has certainly set the standards high here. The course is simply beautiful with pine trees, olive trees and carob trees lining the beautifully manicured fairways and beyond the trees are the fantastic views of the Mediterranean Sea on one side and on the other, stunning views of the Five Finger mountain range. This is a perfect holiday golf course as it is playable for those of all standards so those of all abilities can have the chance to try their shots here! This course is an ideal one for your next golf break to Cyprus and the first tee is a just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel!
