Carnoustie - Burnside Course
This brilliant links course at Carnoustie has often been used for qualifying when the Open has been held on the Championship course at Carnoustie. Although it may not be the longest course at 6,028 yards, the course boasts its own charm and proves to be a firm test of golf.
What the course lacks in length, it makes up for with the features and views that you can enjoy throughout your round. With tight fairways, an abundance of heather and pot bunkers as well as the Barry Burn wandering through parts of the course this is a tricky round of golf and will require you to be accurate right form the first tee shot. Many of the short holes along the course would compare with any Championship golf course as they all provide dramatic challenges for those hoping to make par. You can use the first few holes as a warm up as the final 12 holes boast strategically placed bunkers and difficult angles to navigate. This course is often overshadowed by the Championship course at Carnoustie, but it boasts so much character and charm that a round here can rival your experience on the Championship course and is certainly not to be missed out on.
The clubhouse at Carnoustie Golf Club matches the standard of the three fantastic courses here and is the perfect place for you to enjoy a post-round drink and meal.
The Burnside Links course is filled with charm and each of the holes boasts its own unique character and layout but there are some real stand-out holes along the course
