The George Washington golf course is a Championship Golf Course in the North East and a recent venue for Sunderland AFC’s Masters. The course has everything you need to play an excellent round of golf around North East England.
Set in picturesque surroundings, it is one of the most challenging golf courses in the North East of England. The course is measured at 6625 yards from the championship tees and provides a challenge to all standards of golfer, with five par 5’s and a course par of 73. The course sits in 325 acres of stunning surroundings in the beautiful countryside. As well as the golf course, there is a state of the art 16 bay floodlit driving range, with 2 teaching bays and 6 power tee bays open 9am to 9pm daily. Other facilities include; putting green, short game practice area including bunker, 150 cover event room and you can book lessons with a resident PGA golf profession, using modern technology or traditional teaching methods to improve your game.Golf Lessons provided by either of our resident PGA Teaching Professionals are available on both an individual or group basis. When it is time to unwind, The Clubhouse provides the perfect relaxation space, with its own bar and food menu available to order and enjoy inside or even on the spacious balcony that overlooks the course. For all equipment needs, the Golf Pro-Shop stocks a range from golf balls to the latest caddies and accessories as well a the best of golfing fashion to ensure you play in comfort including J.Lindeburg and Greg Norman to name a few, all at competitive prices. The Golf Professional shop also offers a custom fit service, customising your golf clubs to improve your game. Golf buggies are available to travel around the course smoothly.
