Championship Course at Trevose Golf & Country Club
The Championship Course at Trevose Golf & Country Club is a superb links course in a prime position along the west coast of Cornwall.
Designed by H.S Colt, Trevose is placed in good company, with the Colt family also designing an array of world class courses including Augusta, Sunningdale, Royal Portrush and Muirfield.
Opened in 1925, this championship course is held in high regard and has hosted some prestigious events including the Brabazon Trophy, The English Mens Count Finals and the more recent European Legends Links Championship.
The course layout is made up of two loops of nine, the front nine hugs the sand dunes and coastline providing spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, whilst the back nine heads inland back towards the clubhouse. The main hazard here is the prevailing wind which changes on a daily basis, meaning no two rounds are the same. With wide fairways and generous greens, the rough has been made to be brutal to penalise wayward shots, whilst strategic bunkers can come into play.
Trevose is a great course in the winter months, with the links style ensuring excellent drainage and great playability year round.
