La Serena Golf Course

This beautiful course has been designed by World Cup & Ryder Cup winner, Manuel Piñero who is regarded as one of the top golf course designers of his time and was opened in 2006. The course encircles the 500 year old "Torre del Rame" watch tower, built to watch for pirates who took refuge in the tranquil waters of the Mar Menor and is integrated into the surrounding residential areas.

At this golfing holiday...

Serena Golf is an 18-hole par 72 course with a total length of 6500 yards form the back tees. The course is mainly flat and the general advice is that a buggy is not necessary when playing here. The Golf in Spain Guide rate this course a 3 for difficulty to play (1 representing easy with 5 being the most difficult). The main difficulties at Serena will be the prevailing east wind along with the many water hazards that come into play in 16 of the18 holes.

The course, which is not overly long, has a traditional structure and theme. Accuracy off the tee is a must as you thread your way to the green avoiding clusters of bunkers, desert areas and the aforementioned water hazards.

La Serena Golf has a large Club House providing all facilities and services including changing rooms, pro-shop, caddy master and storage facilities for clients’ use, along with a restaurant and bar area, which overlooks both the Mar Menor and the course itself. You will also find here a practice area, chipping area and a putting green and buggy hire is available if you require this service.

The Serena Golf course is, following professional and amateur players consensus, arguably the Murcia Region’s toughest course. Built in Florida style being flat, with lots of bunkers and water in play on nearly all the holes and when the wind blows in from the East, this is a challenge to anyone who plays here. The course has been well designed with every hole requiring strategic thought and attention. The greens are well proportioned and the Clubhouse is most hospitable and welcoming.
