Emirates Golf Club - The Faldo

Emirates Golf Club's second championship golf course was opened in 1996 and was christened The 'Wadi', taken from the Arabic word for 'valley'. In 2005, The Wadi was redesigned by six-time major winner Nick Faldo and the new 'The Faldo' re-opened in October 2006.
A par-73, the course has proved to be as popular as ever and lures players to the challenge of its 7,348 yards. Faldo’s trademark tees and bunkers have combined with the naturally rugged terrain to create a unique golfing experience. A natural wadi running the length of the course comes in to play without being classified as a hazard; ‘The Faldo’ has surpassed all of its expectations and is destined to be regarded as one of the finest courses in Dubai.
The Faldo golf course has a consistent theme of bunkering from the tee to green which imposes a challenge upon its player. This challenge is further intensified with an impressive 14 lakes positioned to protect the lengthy greens and spacious fairways. Do not be lured into a false sense of security by the large scale of the greens; accuracy and skill is still required to attain a good score on this golf course. Weaknesses in putting skills are easily exposed with the sloping greens. As well as being an incredibly well manicured course, there are charming dessert characteristics of this course including light placement of palm trees, and spacious serrated-edge sandy areas which can further catch the player out.
