There is great variation across the fantastic golf course at the Gavea Golf & Country Club, and that is not just referring to the elevation across the course; many of the holes here differ greatly in nature and the challenge they bear. Uniquely, holes 10 to 13 are situated on a narrow area of land adjacent to the São Conrado beach, and to intensify the challenge here, the holes must be played around a large lake. Furthermore, all six of the par-3s on this golf course are situated in undulations, characterised by a mass of sand traps.
