Le Golf National - The Aigle
The Aigle at Le Golf National is a fantastic golf course, and by no means appears as inferior to its sister course, the Albatros. It provides a challenging round, however it is widely considered to be tamer and more leisurely than the Albatros course. Consisting of perfectly manicured greens and flowing roughs, the Aigle course is a must play on your next venture into the Paris region.
The course provides a links feel and offers a challenging round of golf, suitable for all standards of golfer due to a multitude of tee offs on offer. With wide fairways and a limited number of bunkers, the course allows you to let loose on your driver. Be warned; the undulating fairways and long waving rough, reminiscent of a traditional Scottish course, can cause several problems along the way. Measuring 6,489 yards, this course does not feature the usual demanding hazards as such in the form of lakes or bunkers that may typically be included in European golf courses, it is more deceiving than this in the formation of its landscape. Players here can easily be allured into a false sense of security with the spacious and open fairways where they are then faced with a challenge to overcome the contoured structure to them, causing a fast run off. This course was designed with all players in mind, and has been consistently maintained to a world-class standard. It is a tolerant course for each and every golfer irrespective of their handicap; play well and you will be rewarded. The Aigle course is one of France’s best kept treasures.

This fabulous course opens with the front nine mostly consisting of flatter ground with a more open, links style terrain. In the back nine the undulating greens come into play, and the player soon finds they must utilise their skill set to the best of their ability or they may find their scorecard seriously hindered. It is encouraged you bring spare balls in the event you fall a victim to the deceivingly wide fairways, and don’t anticipate their contoured nature.
The Aigle at Le Golf National is an enjoyable course where you should make handicap and is a great warm up before attempting the Albatros experience, or simply makes a great course for the less ambitious players who are looking to play a comfortably challenging round. All players are welcomed in the recently renovated clubhouse, restaurant and bar. The Aigle completes the le Golf National complex, creating the perfect Parisian golfing holiday.
