Oulton Hall Golf Club

  • Oulton Hall boasts the fantastic par-71 Calverley Course which holds a beautiful position overlooking rolling hills and dale landscape. All 27 holes at Oulton Hall were designed by the brilliant Dave Thomas and the complex comprises of the 18-hole Calverley Course and the 9-hole Hall course.

The 27-hole championship complex is set within 400 acres of beautiful Yorkshire countryside and although this is a stunning course, you mustn’t be distracted by the beautiful scenery as this is a tricky course that will test golfers of all abilities. The Calverley Course is definitely not as simple as it may seem at first as there are many strategically placed bunkers on the fairways which you must navigate your ball around successfully in order to walk away with a good scorecard after the final putt! Along with the bunkers, there is the occasional water hazard that you must carry your shot over. This is a fantastic course which is always in immaculate condition and serves as an excellent holiday course with breathtaking scenery and 18 very different and very interesting holes for you to take on. The Oulton Hall golf complex is the perfect companion to a few nights’ stay at the lovely five-star Oulton Hall Hotel in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

    Full details

A day at Oulton Hall’s 27-hole championship golf complex could never be disappointing as everything is fantastic from the service to the facilities within the golf club. Along with the club’s state-of-the-art golf Academy, the club offers a range of facilities including buggy hire which is ideal for navigating your way around the beautiful course and the club’s grounds, there is also a practice range to practice your putting. Best of all, after your round, enjoy a few drinks and a bite to eat at the Claret Jug restaurant.
The 3rd hole is the standout hole from the front nine of the Calverley Course. The hole is a long dog-leg where you must carry your tee shot over a lovely water feature and if it is played well, you can cut the corner to reach the green with your second shot, but you must avoid the three bunkers that are guarding the green.
The course finishes in grand style starting from the short par-4 15th hole where you may struggle to reach the tiny green which sits down in a hidden copse! The 16th is an equally special hole which has many trees lining the fairway which are all lying in wait for any errant shots!
This is a superb course on which no two of the holes are the same. If you are looking for a varied course which is immaculate condition, then look no further…
