Palmeraie Golf Rotana

  • Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr, the Palmeraie Golf Rotana Golf Club is set in 77 hectares on a relatively flat landscape nearly 1500 feet above sea level. Running through the valley of the stunning snow-capped Atlas Mountains, this course offers views of unrivalled beauty to create an unforgettable round of golf.

With numerous lakes, bunkers and palm trees lining the greens, you are sure not to forget a round on this par 72 course. Anticipate fast greens here, and due to the flat nature of the course's landscape, it is made easily walkable. When playing this course the player must proceed with caution; with approximately 150,000 trees, it is easy to find your ball swallowed up here. The Jbilettes nine (the front nine) and Atlas nine (the back nine) have been structured so that they begin and end together in two loops. With numerous fairways weaving in and out around several spacious water hazards, players are urged to bring their A-game when challenging the PalmGolf Palmeraie golf course.

Recently a further 9 holes have been constructed, named the Tensift nine. These are widely considered to be more forgiving than the other nines on the course, and generally feature less water hazards. On the Tensift nine the challenge is predominantly based on the raised greens featured several strategically placed bunkers. There is also a stark contrast between the lush green golf course with its palm trees and lakes and the neighbouring desert that stretches away into the distance. Palmeraie Golf Rotana is undoubtedly a superb 27 hole golf complex, welcoming all players regardless of their handicap with multiple options for tee-off.

A notable hole on the Palmeraie Golf Rotana course includes the long par 4, 5th hole, featuring a blind dogleg to the right. Yet the hardest hole on the course is widely considered to be 9th hole, also featuring a dogleg to the right with a spacious water hazard running down the right hand side from the tee until the green. Players will soon find the challenge eased on the 11th hole, a short par 3 with a bunker in front.
Caddies are compulsory in Morocco and on some courses that applies even if you hire a buggy. Fees are paid locally with the minimum amount being 100 Dirhams (£8.00) however if your caddy has done a good job then you are expected to pay 150 - 200 Dirhams. Please allow for this extra cost when you're planning your golf holiday to Morocco.
