Pramerica Course at Royal Park Roveri
Situated just a few kilometres away from the Alps on the outskirts of Turin, is the exclusive Royal Park Roveri Golf Club, ranked one of the best golf resorts in the country. Featuring two magnificent championship standard courses; the Trent Jones Sr. Course and the newly built Pramerica, the Royal Park Roveri offers a comprehensive golfing itinerary at a prestigious golf club.
The Pramerica course, designed by the American architects Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry, is the smaller sister of the Trent Jones Sr. Course, but compliments the latter with some excellent game play. The course represents a superb example of combining golf with nature, and was not designed to match the Old, but to offer a completely different golfing experience.
The course is suitable for higher handicappers with a panoramic mountainous backdrop and a few strategically placed hazards. Due to the relatively flat terrain of this fabulous course, luckily for golfers a buggy is not always necessary as it is very walkable. With several outstanding holes and breath-taking views throughout, it comes as no surprise that the Pramerica Course was awarded the ‘Best New Golf Course’ in 2014 by two famous international magazines, Golf Digest and Golf World.

The Pramerica Course is predominantly characterised by its open and flat fairways, with water hazards coming into play at numerous holes. The 2nd and 11th holes line a large pond, yet at the 15th and 16th holes water poses as a greater challenge when a dogleg comes into play; it is fair to say that this course always keeps you on your toes! Water also comes into play on the 1st, 8th and 10th holes with a stream cutting through them, however the most challenging hole on this unique golf course includes the concluding 403-metre long 18th hole. This is widely considered to be the most testing hole due to its multi-tiered putting surface and large bunker lining the right-hand side of the green. At this hole, it is imperative players avoid this enormous bunker if they are looking to maintain a solid score right to the end.
As well as the Royal Park Roveri boasting two of Northern Italy’s best golf courses, it also includes several fantastic facilities including a driving range, a floodlit putting green and fully stocked pro shop. The Pramerica Course at Royal Park Roveri is an excellent course in its own right and offers a peaceful round of golf in a beautiful surrounding.
