Royal Golf Club Tangier
The prestigious Royal Country Club Tangier was founded in 1914 and is the first golf club below the Mediterranean and one of the oldest in the continent of Africa.
The course was originally designed by British architects Cotton and Pennik, before being revised and lengthened by Peter Harradine in 2001. The course promises a luxurious round of golf in a natural and serene setting. The course is situated just under 3km away from Tangier city centre, a town that may well be worth a visit after a morning round of golf.
This traditional 18-hole course weaves its way through 65 hectares, through hilly terrain covered forests filled with pines, firs and eucalyptus trees. The design is undulating in parts and flat in others, providing a varied round with some challenging holes, to some more simpler holes. The majority of them offer a panoramic sea view for that unmissable backdrop.
Don’t be fooled with the short length of the course, spanning only 6060m, as there are plenty of hazards and obstacles, which will need complete accuracy and strategic play to conquer.
The practice facilities here will give you everything you need to prepare for the full 18, with a 10 bay driving range, as well as a short game practice area consisting of two putting greens, a chipping green and one training bunker.
For a traditional and luxurious round of golf in North Morocco, the Royal Golf Club Tangier is an excellent addition to your Morocco golf holiday.
