The Club at Meyrick Park - Championship Course

  • The historic 18-hole Championship golf course at Meyrick Park was first established in 1894 and attracts golfers from all over Europe due to its rich heritage and excellent layout. The course is set within 120 acres of undulating and beautiful parkland and boasts verdant tree-lined fairways.

You will find the course right in the centre of the seaside town of Bournemouth but it is the perfect country setting for this brilliant parkland course. It is impressive how the course blends so effortlessly into its country surroundings when Bournemouth’s town centre is just 15 minutes’ walk away. This is a very enjoyable course with good greens and the front nine is quite open which means that your scorecards shouldn’t be suffering too much by the time you reach the second half of the course. On the back nine, the fairways narrow and the trees come into play a lot more and with hazards often facing you on all sides, you must hit with accuracy in order to score well. This is a brilliant and varied course with stunning surroundings which makes it a perfect addition to your next golf holiday to the Bournemouth area, especially if you are looking for a firm but fair test of golf.

The service received at Meyrick Park Golf Club has never been reported as anything but excellent and complimenting the course is the clubhouse which is home to state of the art health club facilities and The Lodge where you can find a great option for accommodation if you are looking for a stay and play golf break.
Although long hitters may be pleased with the length of this course just by sight, they will be sorely disappointed if they think that long shots will get them a good scorecard on this hole as right from the 1st tee there are many challenges and wayward shots are not forgiven here due to the thick, verdant woodland which lines the fairways.
You are faced with many different challenging holes right from the 1st tee, where you are faced with a very challenging par 3 at 244 yards where the drive is over a valley to a small green cut into a hill. Another brilliant hole is the par 5 14th hole. After the round, make sure that you enjoy a few drinks and even a meal at the clubhouse. Throughout the course, you are presented with a wide range of memorable challenges which makes this a must-play course in the Bournemouth area.
