Trent Jones Sr. Course at Royal Park Roveri
Located near the Alps on the outskirts of Turin, is the exclusive Royal Park Roveri Golf Club, ranked one of the best golf resorts in the country. Featuring two magnificent championship standard courses, including the Trent Jones Sr. Course, designed by the famous Robert Trent Jones, which is consistently considered to offer one of the best rounds of golf in Italy.
The Trent Jones Sr. Course, opened in 1971, is the more highly acclaimed of the Royal Park Roveri duo, and is consistently ranked as the best round in Italy. Generally considered to be more superior to its sister course, the Pramerica, this parkland course was beautifully constructed to incorporate enchanting forest areas and planned water hazards including natural small lakes and water ditches. The bunkers, hazards and greens preserve the natural landscape, whilst the back drop of the Alps mountain scenery offers something special onto the round.
Compliant with Robert Trent Jones’ usual style, this fantastic golf course features many strategically placed bunkers and water hazards across large undulating greens. A particular feature of this course includes the stunning views of the Alps on offer from several holes, further adding to the sheer natural beauty of the landscape. Despite this golf course being situated just outside of Turin, Piedmont’s capital city, players on the Trent Jones Sr. course can easily appreciate the peaceful ambience that the Italian countryside offers.

Look out for the magnificent 17th and signature 18th, which both emphasise the sheer quality of the Trent Jones Sr. Course. The 17th hole has even been awarded the ‘Best Hole of Italy’ by Gazzetta dello Sport. This 468-yard-long hole bears an invigorating challenge, with dense forestry lining either side of the fairway, and a water hazard and spacious bunkering just before the green. Whilst this hole focuses on testing the player’s accuracy, on the concluding 18th hole, players are presented with a lengthy challenge on this 524-yard-long drive, pushing the distance of their shot to its limit.
With an invigorating challenge on offer and a unique landscape, it comes as no surprise that the Trent Jones Sr. golf course has been names the Best Italian Course by World’s Leading Golf. Furthermore, the excellent quality of this golf course has further been showed when it hosted the Italian Open for three consecutive years.
