Westerwood Golf Club

  • The fantastic 18-hole Westerwood golf course was designed by Seve Ballesteros and Dave Thomas and is widely considered to be one of Scotland’s best kept secrets. The impressive course meanders through silver birches, firs and heather but you mustn’t be distracted by its scenery.

The course at Westerwood Golf Club is a stunning but challenging course that will test golfers of all abilities. There is a wide variety of different holes with interesting layouts and many hazards for you to overcome along the route including the water hazards at the 4th hole and the strategically placed bunkers placed at the 6th hole. Although the course is not overly long at just over 6,300 yards, it has all the hazards and a difficult layout which means that even those with very low handicaps will need to keep their concentration. The course is surrounded by beautiful scenery with many of the holes overlooking the Kilsyth and campsite hills. If you are looking for a course that will pose a stern challenge to golfers of all abilities as well as being the perfect holiday course with beautiful surroundings and a great hotel for you to stay within then look no further than this great 18-hole course.

After a round on the fantastic Westerwood Golf Course, relax in the Club Bar and reminisce over your fantastic round whilst enjoying a few refreshing drinks and a meal.

Westerwood Golf Course boasts a very interesting layout with many hazards including water and strategically placed bunkers which can cause your score card to take a hit, but this is a very enjoyable and scenic course which will provide you with an excellent golfing experience both with the course and the club’s facilities. Another notable point about this course is that it is always in impeccable condition.
The course’s signature hole is the par 3 15th hole which is just 165 yards long and is known as the Waterfall hole. This is a hole that will take your breath away as you have to hit from above to a green which is surrounded by a 60ft rock face…this hole isn’t for the faint hearted away and with the undulating moorland greens it is even harder.
This is a course which perfectly matches its hotel in the fact that it is a great golf club with the highest levels of service and so it is the perfect addition to a great golf break in Scotland, especially if you are enjoying a relaxing stay at the fantastic Westerwood Hotel.
