Beaufort Golf Club - South West of Ireland
The course was taken over in 2006 by new owners who invested in redevelopments which have massively benefitted the course and seen its popularity grow. A quaint feature of this course is found to the side of the 15th green where there are the ruins of Castle Corr which date back to the 15th century.
The course measures 7,004 yards from the back tees and is par 71 with some brilliant holes you won’t be forgetting in a hurry. The signature hole has to be the 18th which from the tips is 457 yards and doglegs around to the left. An accurate tee shot will be required to avoid the perilous water hazard that occupies the area to the left of the 18th fairway. This parkland course runs through a forest with trees over 200 years old and is s a lovely addition to any Ireland golf escape.
Beaufort Golf Club is located on the Churchdown Estate in South West Ireland. The estate was originally owned by Sir Rowland Blennerhassett it was he who built the beautiful manor house at the heart of this delightful place. Whilst the estate itself was established in 1740 and has been used for various things over the years the course itself is fairly young. Arthur Spring designed the course and it was officially opened in 1995.
