Bovey Castle is located in the Dartmoor National park in Devon, South West England.
The manor house that is now Bovey Castle hotel was originally built by the son of the William Henry Smith the founder of WH Smith. A golf course was built onsite in the the 1920’s and along with the hotel was opened in 1930. The hotel experienced successful years of operation and then was bought in 1991 and underwent some large expansions. Today it is owned by the very reputable Eden Hotel Collection and it a 5 star luxury hotel over the looking the beauty of Dartmoor National Park.
There is an 18 holes championship golf course on site which was designed by J F Abercromby. The course winds its way through the grounds of this stunning property and offer a great test of golf in this parkland setting. Golf is not the only thing on the agenda here at Bovey Castle there are many activities on offer from fly fishing to cider and sloe gin making. So you can be sure that a holiday to Bovey Castle will be packed full of fun and adventure.
