Carne Golf Links
Carne Golf Links is located along the Wild Atlantic Way in the North West of Ireland and boasts 27 magnificent links holes.
The course is the last links design by Eddie Hackett, which is believed to be one of his greatest, and lies in an incredible untouched sand dune landscape overlooking Blacksod Bay. Nestled in the Erris North Mayo, which is a stunning natural area famous for its white sandy beaches, wildlife and collection of championship links golf courses.
The full 27 holes were completed in 2013 with the addition of nine holes that have made the most of the perfect golfing terrain to match up with the famous original 18 layout. The formation of Carne Golf Links has caused minimal interference to the wildlife and rugged landscape, where the shape and position of the tees and greens occurred naturally, with very little earth being moved in the process.
For golfers who havent yet experienced this spectacular course, it is regarded as one of the finest links courses in Irish golf. Some of the holes are some of the most dramatic and can be unrivalled from anywhere in the world.
The views from the golf courses are something truly special with the Atlantic Ocean and the islands of Inis Gloire and Inis Geidhe in the distance. The magnificent dunes and rolling fairways found here create a memorable round and an unforgettable golf experience.
Carne Golf Links is a true golfing gem and well worth the trip to North West Ireland alone.
