Your Next Golf Escape Starts Here.
East Brighton Golf Club is set within the lush Sussex downland and is a brilliantly maintained course which can be played all year round.
This course can be considered to be a firm but fair challenge to golfers of all abilities and boasts beautiful surroundings and an interesting layout of holes.
The course at East Brighton Golf Club was designed by James Braid over 100 years ago and in order to score well on the course you must be hitting accurately as the wind often comes into play due to the course’s hillside position. The course is not an overly long course at 6,426 yards and there are a fair few very short holes but equally as many par-5s which makes it a varied and interesting round of golf. With a challenging layout with some strategically placed bunkers and fast fairways which can be made even more challenging by the wind, this is a brilliant course with some stunning views out to sea on most of the holes and of the surrounding Sussex countryside. Halfway through the round, you can enjoy a snack and a beverage at the Halfway Hut which is a very enjoyable experience, especially if the wind is up and you need a few minutes of shelter!
Regardless of which time of year you choose to play a round at East Brighton Golf Club, you will be greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and in the impressive clubhouse as well as a course which is always in prime condition.
The first four holes of the course are uphill before the course drops sharply at the 5th before you embark on several further steep and not-so-steep climbs before reaching the brilliant Halfway Hut. There are some very impressive holes along the course including the 10th hole which is a nice par 3 which is played over a gully which is formed by the 9th fairway and the 18th is a brilliant downhill par 5 where if you place your tee shot correctly then you can be set up well to play a downhill approach and score under par.
The clubhouse at East Brighton Golf Club is very impressive, it was built in 1905 and most of the structure remains the same as when it was first built. The historic building has been improved over the years and now you can relax in the lovely Oak Lounge and enjoy a few drinks after or during your round.

Our group of 4 golfers have just returned from a most enjoyable 3 day trip to the Isle of Wight. The short ferry crossing works very efficiently, we even managed to get on the return ferry despite arriving about 10 minutes before departure. Day 1 we played 9-hole Osbourne, a lovely parkland course close to the House and with occasional sea views. Day 2 we were at Freshwater Bay, fortunately in the most benign conditions as it is quite exposed but with fantastic sea views and many great holes. Our final day was at Sandown and Shanklin which is clearly the best club on the island and where (despite the delayed start which) we played some cracking holes. Our Travel Lodge in Newport worked very well for us and the whole trip was excellent value.

Excellent service.
Long weekend away April 2019. Great golf, accommodation, food etc at Avisford Park. We have used Golf Escapes many times and they never fail to deliver. The four of us are looking forward to our next weekend away, this time to Cottesmore in September. A special 'Thank You' to Claire for all of your help in accommodating our requirements.

We are already planning next year with Golf Escapes.
This is the fourth time we have used Golf Escapes. In the past it has been to France although this year we went to the Isle of Wight. We were concerned about Brexit. Every part of each visit has been a success with the golf, travel and the hotels. An important element is that we deal with a person who can always be contacted. We find the staff both friendly and knowledgeable. We are already planning next year with Golf Escapes.

Nothing’s too much trouble.
Golf Escapes arranged for 9 of us to stay at The East Sussex National. After booking we had to make some minor adjustments and had a few questions which was handled as if nothing’s too much trouble. Would also thoroughly recommend East Sussex national for a golf stay. Excellent facilities and 2 GREAT golf courses.

We had a really enjoyable time and all aspects of the venue - food, accommodation and golf course were well up tour expectations. Certainly on our radar for a future visit.
