    The championship standard 9 hole par 36 Jebeli Ali golf course is visually stunning and provides a fair but exciting challenge to golfers of all abilities. The course itself is arranged on different elevations and features a large salt water lake that you'll find comes into play on five of the holes. This popular course is certainly well worth a visit on your next golf holiday to Dubai.

    The varying landscape on each hole includes exotic trees and shrubs and provides a beautiful panoramic view of the Arabian Gulf. The desert flora increases the difficulty of the course whilst providing aesthetic satisfaction. It is quite common to see various wildlife roaming the fairways with guinea fowl and peacocks a regular sight on the perfectly manicured fairways. Despite the course only being created in 1998, it hosted the official opening of the Dubai Desert Classic in 2008. International golfing legends such as Tiger Woods and Ernie Els have also played this course. Therefore despite the course being relatively young, its early success is undeniable.

    Although the Jebel Air golf course is only 9 holes there are four different tee positions on each hole which allows you to play a full 18 holes and experience a varied back nine to your front nine. The lengthiest hole on the course includes the 582 yard opening par 5. This tee is named the ‘Marina Bay’ due to its views overlooking the harbour. This is a 3-shot hole and requires its player to focus totally on accuracy as opposed to distance from the tee due to the close proximity of the salt water lake. The closing 9th hole lies adjacent to the first hole, and likewise is a par 5. The player must avoid the only fairway bunker on the course whilst playing this 526 yard hole. As the wind from the sea turns and strengthens throughout the day, player’s golfing skills are persistently challenged on this magnificent golf course. 
     
    A notable attribute of the golf course includes the spacious flood-lit driving range with target greens and bunkers. Other training facilities include the flood-lit 27-hole putting, pitching, chipping and bunker green. At the golf course golf academy, lessons are available from experienced and enthusiastic PGA professionals. Whether the player holds the skill set of a beginner, intermediate or advanced player; their learning needs will be accommodated for. The clubhouse pro shop sells high quality golfing accessories, equipment and clothing from some of the leading suppliers of golf merchandise.
