Located in South West Ireland near Killarney, on the banks of Lough Leane is Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. This is a wonderful location for a golf course, so much so that there are actually 54 holes here. The Killeen course is perhaps the most famous of the three.
The Killeen is a championship course at Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. The course has hosted the Irish Open on 4 occasions and it is not hard to see why. The course is spectacular with beautiful back drops of lakes and mountains along with waterfalls that are a regular feature all the way round.
The course is 7,200 yards from the back tees and is absolute masterpiece. It makes it’s way majestically along the shores of Lough Leane with what must be some of the prettiest holes in all of Ireland which is no mean feat. There are too many great holes to choose from when it comes to a signature hole. There is however a particularly special tee shot which comes on the fourth hole where you will be teeing off from what feels like the middle of the lough with the tee box set out on a peninsula looking back inland to the hole.
There are number of great courses in the area to add to your itinerary, we suggest adding Waterville Golf Links and the Ring of Kerry to make up an unforgettable trip. An ideal place to stay would be the Killarney Court Hotel in Killarney as this is a great location and central to a number of the famous courses in this part of Ireland.
