The landscape of this course has been sculpted on the natural contours of the island’s hills, creating attractive undulations. Whilst this make create an aesthetically pleasing view, it creates a memorable challenge. The spacious greens of this course are lined with several mature palm trees and other luscious indigenous plants therefore players must be mindful they do not misplace their ball as it is unlikely it will be easily retrievable! With the Atlantic Ocean as the course’s back-drop, it is unsurprising that brisk winds come into play creating a links-esque feel.
To relieve the challenge that the landscape of this course creates, several drop zones have been created to aid players in recovering an awkward second shot. This saves them from having to plough through the rough for a tee-shot. The Lanzarote Golf Resort course has been praised for its irrigation system, designed to minimalise environmental impact by using recycled water.
A signature hole of this par-72 course includes the par-3 12th hole due to its breath-taking views offered at the highest point of this course. Despite being the shortest hole on the course and boasting the widest green, this hole still poses a challenge, and it is recommended you use a seven-iron to help you avoid a stone wall lining the right side of the green, and a rocky path on the left. It is imperative players play a straight shot on this hole, or they will be mercilessly punished. The Lanzarote Golf Resort course is undoubtedly a captivating course, bursting with its own unique character; a round on this course is an unmissable opportunity on your next golfing holiday.
