Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas
Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas bears over a hundred years of history as it is famously the first ever golf club in Spain, and was inaugurated in 1891. With the edge of the Caldera de Bandama acting as a stunning backdrop, this 18-hole par-71 parkland course is one of unrivalled beauty and is not to be missed on your next golfing holiday to Gran Canaria.
Designed by the famous duo McKenzie and Ross, Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas has a traditional layout, similar to an old style British course with no frills; just well designed, well maintained and easily walkable. Where it differs is in the unique vegetation; tropical flora and views of the volcanic landscape and typical Canarian villages. This is not a long course at 5915 metres off the back, and not particularly difficult with no water hazards, but thoroughly enjoyable to play in a most unspoilt setting. Golfers are sure to love playing in Gran Canaria, not just because of the world-class courses; the Canary Islands boast a warm climate all-year round so you will never miss a chance to get to play this fabulous course.

The Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas course boasts beautiful views of the summit and the ocean; providing an unforgettable round to all. This course is perfect for those looking to play a relatively short course with small greens and narrow straights. With its blend of gullies, large bunkers and small greens combined with spectacular views, this course will certainly entice all golfers regardless of their preferences. The more experienced player is sure to enjoy the scenic dog-legged par-4 11th hole with its challenging blind drive.
Whilst the fairways are narrow, a variety of beautiful Canary Island flora line them; including mimosas and palm trees. The 2nd hole of this course is particularly notable because here a careless shot will not be forgiven; an inaccurate shot will send your ball down the ravine that runs parallel to the fairway. The architects of this course succeeded in creating a fantastic parkland course whilst still bearing the scars of Gran Canaria’s volcanic activity to create a fabulous visual experience.
This course is highly accessible for all; and is just 15 minutes away from the city and centre and 25 minutes from the airport. Practice facilities at Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas golf club include two putting greens, a practice tee and a pitching green.
