Slaley Hall - Hunting Course
It has even been referenced as being the “Gleneagles of the South” and the “Augusta of the North”. This incredible golfing experience should be on every discerning golfer’s bucket list.
The Hunting course was designed by Dave Thomas and opened for play in 1989. Thomas is well-known for designing unique and interesting layouts and he hasn’t disappointed with this superb course and its magnificent layout. The course is a very big and long one at 7,000 yards from the back tees but there are several tee options to choose from for golfers of higher handicaps. The course was carved through a dense pine forest and so there are still many pine trees present on the course and at the edges of the fairways which lie in wait for errant shots. In order to score well on the fantastic Hunting course, you must deliver long and straight tee shots, careful approach shots and a steady hand on the putting surface as anything less will leave you with a poor scorecard.
