The Montgomerie at Carton House

The Montgomerie golf course opened in 2002 and boasts a fantastic links style design which poses a challenge to golfers of all abilities. The course is designed by Colin Montgomerie and has some very impressive features from sweeping fairways to cavernous bunkers and impeccable greens.
There is no doubt that this is a very clever golf course with the strategically placed pot bunkers which are no less severe on the fairways as they are around the greens and if you end up in one of them the prognosis is not good. With these strategical hazards, you must think about each and every shot which can be made more difficult when the wind is up. This is a course which is in excellent condition all year round and has hosted a variety of different tournaments since its opening in 2002 including the Irish Open in 2005, 2006 and 2013. With the winds up, this can be a stern challenge for golfers even with the lowest of handicaps due to its layout, hazards and its length of over 7,300 yards! If you are looking for a course with an interesting layout with huge features like defining sand dunes, swaying fescue grass and a modern look then look no further than this fantastic 18-hole championship course at the Carton House Estate.
