UNA Poggia Golf
Poggio Dei Medici’s fantastic 18-hole par 73 Championship course opening for play in 1992 and is 6,468 metres long from the back tees making it a firm but fair test of golf for those of all handicaps. The course is set in the heart of Tuscany so you can enjoy fantastic views from every hole.
The course is a parkland course with its fairways set against rolling hills. Although there is very little water on the course, with water only coming into play on a few holes, you need to make sure that you hit relatively straight shots to avoid your balls being lost due to the fescue-lined fairways and well-protected greens. This is a brilliant course which has hosted the Ladies Italian Open between 1999 and 2003 as well as three European Challenge Tour Opens and so it is well worth a play when you are next in the area! There is no doubting that this is one of the finest courses in Italy and can offer a solid challenge to golfers of all abilities due to the five different tee options here. Make sure that Poggio Dei Medici’s golf course is on your must-play list on your next golf escape to Italy.

The course is situated in a beautiful area of Italy, set in the Mugello valley and sheltered by Apennines. The course is easily accessible from most areas of Italy and with so much to do on the hotel’s site for non-golfers whilst you golf this is a popular course for everyone.
You will always be greeted with a warm welcome here and before you take on the golf course you can have a practice at the putting area, on the driving range or just sit down and have a cold beverage in preparation!
The fantastic 18 holes are set out over two ridges and three valleys so if you aren’t up for hiking over the undulating terrain then it is highly recommended that you get a buggy for your round! Make sure that you aim well and follow through with your shots to avoid the hazards on each hole and reach the large greens, especially on the long par 5 2nd hole, the doglegged 5th hole and the very short par 4 15th! All of the fairways are kept in immaculate condition, this course is considered to be a gem and is a perfect addition to the itinerary for your next Tuscan golf break.
