Established in 1901 and internationally renowned for its outstanding condition, Wimeraux offers spectacular and unrivalled views across the Channel. As a Scottish-style links course with a distinct character, it comes as no surprise that this fantastic course has hosted multiple international events, and is considered to be one of the best links courses across the channel.
Coastal winds and undulating fairways provide an enjoyable and unforgettable challenge for golfers. On first appearances this course may not look particularly testing, however when golfers find themselves playing against the natural terrain and undulating fairways they will find their opinion will swiftly change! Even when the wind is tame, the landscape of this course still requires players to bring their A-game. Fairways on the Wimereux are very spacious and exposed with very little greenery sheltering it therefore the wind can fully take its toll on all shots.

This course welcomes its golfers to play a testing round, particularly the signature par four 11th into the wind, where they can enjoy the superb Channel views. However players must conquer the dog leg left whilst taking on strong winds. However the Wimereux course is a rewarding golfing experience, and is not to be missed on your next golfing holiday to France. On a clear day, players can be treated to magnificent views of the white cliffs of Dover.
Another notable hole on this course includes the par-5 18th hole, where players tee off aiming towards the middle of the spacious fairway. For the second shot, it is imperative that the player chooses their club wisely as the ball needs to land before the ditch that runs across the fairway. Those capable of hitting a lengthy shot will benefit from being able to send the ball over the ditch, but they will soon find themselves challenged by a bunker on their left side, and a water hazard on the right.
Wimereux has played host to many International and regional tournaments in recent years and the clubhouse is equally as welcoming, with a fantastic traditional restaurant and bar offering fine wines and local cuisine which can all be enjoyed from the terrace overlooking the course and coastline in the summer season. Alternatively, during the winter months players can enjoy the cosy atmosphere by the fireplace. Furthermore, visitors can find and purchase all essential golfing accessories, clothing and equipment in the clubhouse pro-shop.
