Golf at Gondwana Kwena Lodge

Gondwana Game Reserve is located just under an hour from Fancourt and would be a great addition to any itinerary. The reserve is 11,000 hectares of private land which has some of South Africa’s most special wildlife including White Rhinos and Cape Mountain Zebra.

Fancourt Links is undoubtedly the most impressive piece of golf design and construction in South Africa. After studying the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland, Player’s design team embarked on the ambitious task of recreating some of their finest holes to create a true links test.

Having opened in the early 1990s, Fancourt’s Montagu and Outeniqua golf courses have grown into two of the country’s finest 18-hole parkland layouts. They are both ranked among the top 20 golf courses in South Africa. They are both sculpted and finished beautifully, with rare attention to detail, and designed with the coastal George winds in mind.

Oubaai is located between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean and is a short drive from George Airport. This Ernie Els links championship course sits comfortably within its coastal setting. Oubaai is a par 72 course measuring 6,516 from the back tees.
