Your Next Golf Escape Starts Here.
The Buddon Links course is the newest course at Carnoustie Golf Club and was designed by Peter Alliss and the late Dave Thomas but there have been many changes since then including a very recent investment in the course.
Carnoustie’s Buddon Links is a stunning Links course which combines the traditional links features with other elements such as heathland like heather and silver birch trees which would more commonly be seen on highland courses. Since the course opened in 1979, it has had extensive changes and refurbishments and recently two new holes were added to the course to make this a very testing par 68 golf course. This course is often overlooked but it is a course which will test both amateurs and professional golfers but is considered to be much friendlier than the other Carnoustie courses. A round here offers golfers the opportunity to walk the course and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The holes go back and out from the clubhouse and both the fairways and the greens are always in excellent condition. Make sure that when you are making a visit to Carnoustie Golf Club that you make sure to play this gem of a Links course as it definitely won’t disappoint…
After your enjoyable and scenic round on the Buddon Links course, you can enjoy relaxing in the clubhouse where you can have a bite to eat and a drink or few whilst discussing the wonders of the round on the brilliant links course that you have just finished.

Course Info
The Buddon course begins parallel to the Championship course and runs along the edge of layout making it the closest to the North Sea of the three Carnoustie courses. From the 2nd tee you can enjoy stunning views across the whole of the links course, but you mustn’t be distracted by this view as to reach the heavily guarded green you must avoid the two bunkers at the front, a swale at the back and ample rough elsewhere. The two new holes which were added in 2014 add new levels of challenge to the course. The 11th features water to the right as well two large bunkers on the left which means that accuracy is key with your tee shot. The 12th hole is an impressive left to right dog-leg with one fairway bunker but the view to the green is stunning and you should only require a short iron.
This is a great course with an interesting layout and one that should not be missed out on.
