Golf del Sur
Golf del Sur has been the scene of several top international tournaments since its opening, including the Tenerife Open and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf. As the only 27 hole championship course in Tenerife, the Golf del Sur is a must-play course, and features many memorable holes for an unforgettable round.
This course is certainly unique, offering 27 holes in 3 individual courses; the A "Links" course, the B "North" course, and the C "South" course. The aim in designing the course in this structure was to provide players with variety, and so that they can customise their game to their own preferences. The loops are all gently undulating and easily walkable, therefore the use of a buggy may not always be necessary. However players must not be led into a false sense of security with the relatively flat landscape; this course bears a hidden challenge. At first glance with wide fairways and big greens, the course appears easy, but with the wind, strategic lakes and tricky borrows on the greens, you will do well to play to your handicap. Very popular and widely renowned as one of the best courses in the Canaries, be sure to include the Golf del Sur on your itinerary for your next golf holiday to Tenerife.

Despite the course characterised by its large greens, the two water hazards on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th holes on the links course create difficulty for the player. A particularly memorable hole on the Golf del Sur is the par 5 3rd hole, which is especially challenging. Here players must overcome a wide fairway with a large mass of ochre rock lining the right side, and wide sand roughs lining the left side. This hole demands precise concentration from all players, as due to the strategic placement of bunkers golfers will need to use their entire skillset. Bunkers come into play yet again on the par 3 2nd hole on the south course, where the spacious bunker is filled with black sand, limiting any ‘’sand saves’’.
The two most striking features here are the black volcanic sand in the bunkers, and the lush tropical landscape with palm trees swaying in the sea breeze. The landscape of Golf del Sur is one of spectacular beauty, with the wide fairways lined with a variety of native flora and greenery, including palm trees and giant cacti. With its stunning greenery and landscape, it would not be inaccurate to describe the Golf del Sur as an oasis at the Atlantic Ocean.
