Where is La Zagaleta?

Zagaleta New Course is set in a beautiful 900-acre estate in the hills near Marbella. This place has breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys all the way down to the sea. This is a very exclusive golf course and has to be included as one of the top golf destinations in Spain. 

Zagaleta New Course was opened in 2005, the designer Gaunt & Marnoch blended the course naturally into the landscape giving the feeling that the course was always meant to be there. The course is par 70 with a number of stand-out holes for you to enjoy. 

Once you finish your round there is a pretty clubhouse for you to relax in, whilst enjoying lovely views out over the lake and of the surrounding fauna and wildlife. The views combined with this high-class design mean this will be a round you never forget.

Everything ran like clockwork, thanks to Golf Escapes.

La Cala Golf Resort, Spain, was just about the perfect venue for our latest golf trip. Just back at my desk after a four day trip. Everything ran like clockwork, thanks to Golf Escapes. The hotel, the spa and most importantly the three golf courses at La Cala were excellent. Each hole seems to have fantastic views and nearly every hole has a wow factor. I'm not sure who decided to design a golf course on such a plot of land but I'm glad they did. This might be the first place we will be returning to.

We had a great time.

Hotel, transfers & courses were very good. Our golf could have been better. My friend will be taking the reins for next year’s trip. We may extend by one day. Lauro was the easiest, Chaparral was fantastic but a bit tough for some of our higher handicappers. Torrequebrada was probably our favourite. Hotel was excellent. Staff & food/drink were good. The shuttle company were excellent.
