Prague City Golf Course
The Prague City Golf Course, designed by Alex Cejka and Jeremy Ford, opened in 2009 and is a tranquil 18-hole course in the tranquil south-western region of Prague. It is the perfect place for golf fanatics of all abilities.
Inspired by the traditional Scottish and Irish courses, the architects had a vision of this course becoming a championship course with the ability to host international tournaments, yet playable for the recreational golfer. The course has split into two unique personalities creating a complete round of golf. The first nine holes carry a links style theme; however the last nine are framed around sparkling lakes which create an interesting variety of playing conditions.
The unorthodox red sand wastes create a unique feature on this spectacular golf course. A unique feature of this course include ‘’spill offs’’ which are artificially created earth waves. ‘’The Himalayas’’ includes a distinctive 18 hole putting green inspired by the ‘’Ladies Putting Course of St Andrews’’. It covers a 9,000 square metre driving range, making it one of the most spacious within the Czech Republic. A warm-up driving range is also provided for players to help them prepare for their round of golf. It includes a 9 hole pitch and putt course for players to improve their golfing ability.

The club house, reminiscent of a 200 year old stable, provides a rustic setting and a great way to end a picturesque yet challenging round of golf. The building consists of classic materials including wood, cloth and crystal glass. Visitors are invited to appreciate the stunning views on the terrace whilst enjoying their meal. The architecture of the club house is certainly a remarkable feature of this golf course.
The Prague City golf course has a selection of two different golf academies; the Slavíček Golf Academy and the Nikon Golf Academy. The Slavíček Golf Academy is the largest golf academy in the Czech Republic with its three different centres and 150 students. Their students all consist of children as the Slavíček Golf Academy aims to create young athletes to pursue a golfing legacy in the Czech Republic. The Nikon golf academy places its students in the hands of expert professional coaches. In summer they offer visitors regular training sessions, and consistently welcome players of all abilities. The golf course has successfully completed its aim of appealing to entire families. Even if children in the families choose not to play, they can still remain occupied in the golf course crèche.
