Steenberg Golf Club Golf Holidays
Steenberg Golf Club is situated within the Steenberg Estate in the Constantia Valley, which is renowned for its scenic beauty and wine-producing vineyards. It's located approximately 30 minutes south of Cape Town's city center.
The Par 72 parkland course stretches 6,320 yards off the back tees. Steenberg Golf Club was designed by the acclaimed local course designer Peter Matkovich, and was opened in 1996. Although this course is not the longest around, it is certainly made challenging by the use of local water features and the continually changing winds.
The standout holes of Steenberg Golf Club would have to be the Par 3, 7th & 14th hole. The 7th hole measures 153 yards & golfers will be faced with an island green engulfed by surrounding water & bunkers, so scoring a par on this hole is a fantastic achievement. Then the 14th hole measures a lengthy 182 yards, however what makes this hole so special is the green that awaits golfers. The hole features the largest green in all of Africa at 83 Yards in length. so finding the large green would be easier you'd think, but due to the short width of the putting surface this means accuracy is imperative if you wish to score well on this hole.
