Telford Golf Course

  • Telford Golf and Country Club boasts a fantastic championship golf course which is situated in an idyllic location set within 170 acres of Shropshire countryside within the World Heritage site that is the Ironbridge Gorge.

The course was designed by the excellent John Harris and Brown Griffiths and the club opened for play in 1976 and has gone from strength to strength since, building a good reputation for being an excellent course and golf club. The course is a stunning parkland course which features many different hazards including both water and the trees which line the fairways and lie in wait for any errant shots. Another great thing about this course is that the greens are up to USPGA standard and are very quick as they are always in impeccable condition which can make the course harder but will always make it more enjoyable. The course is fairly long at over 6,700 yards and boasts an interesting layout with tree-lined fairways, open greens and strategic water hazards. This is a fantastic course which will pose an interesting challenge to golfers of all abilities which makes it the perfect course for a great stay and play holiday whilst you enjoy a luxurious and relaxing stay within the Telford Golf and Hotel resort.

After a great round of golf on this interesting course, you can enjoy relaxing in the clubhouse and enjoy a few drinks and a snack whilst you reminisce over your best shots of the round. This is a lovely and welcoming golf club whether you are a member or a guest you will have a great experience here.
There is no surprise that this course is considered to be one of the most spectacular golf courses in Shropshire as it offers over 6,700 yards of spectacular golf with open greens, tree-lined fairways and many hazards to test your game along the way!
Whilst there are many brilliant holes along the course, the signature hole of the course is the 8th which is a 382-yard par 4. On this hole, you must deliver a good drive to make sure that you land on the fairway rather than in one of the two strategically placed bunkers which lie in wait for errant shots. After navigating onto the fairway avoiding the bunkers, you must avoid the water hazard in order to reach the green safely.
Telford Golf and Country Club boasts a fantastic course which is a credit to its brilliant four-star hotel and this is a great pick for your next stay and play golf escape…
