Verdura Golf Resort East Course

  • The East Course at the Verdura Golf Resort has been restored and the layout has been updated by the course architect Kyle Philips. It is a beautifully imaginative design which creates a round full of challenges whilst offering spectacular views of the coastline of Sicily throughout.
The course sets off away from the club house out to the 9th hole which is a new addition. The 9th requires an accurate tee shot to avoid the water and allow yourself a realistic chance of reaching the green in two.
The benefit of having a course on the coast is that the views are often magnificent, and an invigorating challenge is created with strong tail winds blowing over from the Mediterranean Sea. The wind on the East Course can be strong, and combined with the bunker protected greens and water features, this course is a challenge for players of all abilities. With an impressive five tee off options on offer, the East Course at the Verdura Golf Resort is an unmissable course featuring several outstanding holes that can be appreciated by all.

    Full details

Verdura’s “Postage Stamp” hole is considered to be one of the best holes on the front nine of the East Course, and is the 6th hole which is a short par 3 at only 112 yards along the waterside making this a stunning and tricky hole. The last three holes especially provide a spectacular and difficult end to the course, and are sure to linger in your mind for years to come.

On the back nine, arguably the best hole is the par-3 12th, measuring an impressive 260 yards, and is the longest one-shotter on the course. Set at one of the highest points, the views on offer here are simply breath-taking. It is fair to say that this hole takes no prisoners with a challenging ridge master. The 17th hole is particularly distinctive, and rises into the foot of a Sicilian hillside whilst the final par-4 18th hole starts from an elevated coastline with play crashing down the coastline.

In contrast to its sister course, the West Course, the East Course features more undulations therefore it is generally considered to be more challenging. Every hole across this magnificent course offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea and Sicilian mountains. With several hazards and water features, this golf course offers a fantastic challenge that can be appreciated by all golf players due to the variety of tee off options on offer. If you are looking for spectacular views and a unique golfing landscape, then look no further for your next Italian golf break than Verdura Golf Resort.
