About Alpine Golf Club Bangkok
Alpine Golf & Sports Club Bangkok is one of Thailand’s most respected championship golf venues, located approximately 50 kilometres north of central Bangkok. While set in a quieter, semi-rural environment, the course remains accessible for visiting golfers, typically around 60–75 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport depending on traffic conditions.
Renowned for its tournament pedigree and strategic design, Alpine consistently ranks among the strongest championship tests in the greater Bangkok region.
Opened in 1996 and designed by American golf course architect Ron M. Garl, Alpine was constructed on former rice paddy land that was extensively reshaped to introduce elevation changes rarely found on courses around Bangkok.
The 18-hole, par 72 layout measures approximately 7,044 yards from the back tees and is defined by rolling fairways, well-positioned bunkers and water hazards that influence play on a number of holes.
Elevated tee boxes and subtly contoured greens demand careful club selection and precise approach play, rewarding disciplined course management over aggressive shot-making.
Alpine gained international recognition as host of the Johnnie Walker Classic in 2000 and 2004, tournaments won by Tiger Woods and Ernie Els respectively, cementing its status as a championship-calibre venue capable of challenging the world’s best players.
